I've got that one marked down for Ashley - just you see

Having lost my previous favourites the Unconventionals last night after their complete balls-up of a performance I'm here to lend my support to the ER fan thread - along with Dionne they're the only ones I can see myself supporting this year. So that's probably the kiss of death...

Apart from looking like a star Anthony's voice was just amazing last night but the rest of the group really backed him up well. I normally avoid boy bands like the plague but I really liked them from the start, they just all seem so normal and likeable

ps Are they now officially Eton Road rather than Eaton Road???

I agree. I'm not really into boy bands, but this group is distinctive and very good. I think they were my favourites in the first live show.

Arn't they named after the Eaton Road Dance School though???? Just a thought but maybe they decided to take the 'a' out in order to stop the cruel tabloid jibe at their name???? (They were being refered to as Eaton Disorder which imo is out of line. )

Oh, is that why they changed it...you could be right. I'd assumed when I watched last night that they'd done it because most people who didn't know the group would assume it was spelled 'Eton' and that might cause them some problems with the txt votes, but that was a complete guess.

I hadn't heard the 'Eaton Disorder' jibe before... I know I shouldn't but that made me laugh

Actually I get the impression that the boys are able to laugh at themselves and aren't completely up their own backsides like, say, Avenue seemed to be - which is one of the reasons I like them so much

Eaton Road are favourites on this sites poll.

But then again so where The Unconventionals last week and nobody bothered to vote for them...

I agree but perhaps if Anthony really does/did have an eating disorder it might not be a jibe they could laugh off and therefore they may have opted to remove the 'a' for sensitivity reasons. Although your suggestion about the voting also makes sense.

Rod Stewart song choices: how about "I don't want to talk about it" because that doesn't have to be sung in a rocky voice to sound good and it would give them plenty of opportunity to show off their vocals????

That would be a good choice but I can see a lot of the acts being desperate to get their hands on it as well. (Same goes for 'The first cut is the deepest')

If I understood it correctly it's not just Rod's own songs they'll be covering but also the standards he's done on his 'Songbook' albums. I wouldn't be surprsied if they ended up with one of those.

On Xtra factor they said Louis has first choice of songs this week. But then again this is Louis we're talking about...

Is one of his sisters Heidi sugababe - he looks so much like her?

Yes, I heard that too. Do I trust Louis to pick the best songs for his acts even with first choice?....no chance!!!

Anthony is a mixture of Brian Molko (Placebo) and Marc Almond (Soft Cell) - what is good. I prefer interesting over un-original .. and Eaton Road are a little different.

The thing is, the whole group are cute, it is not all just about Anthony ya know.

As to him being "wierd", I just see it as him being individual.

Can we all say that Anthony did not like “anorexic” on Saturday night, as many of you have pointed out on the “Anthony from eaton road – anorexic” thread? He never looked anorexic then, and he certainly didn’t on Saturday. A random point, but did anyone see the size of his neck, it seemed really big, maybe was just the cameras. Lol.

he looked like he'd gained a good stone in weight if you ask me. before there was DEFINITELY something amiss, even if it was exacerated by the hair and makeup... bones shouldn't be as pronounced under flesh as his were. but i am very glad to see he's looking well!

I'd just like to add that after watching the show again, it's clear that every single member of Eton Road is a better singer than everyone else in the competition.

Anthony was fantastic and James, David and Danny really knocked it out when they had their solos.

I love eton road and back them all the way, so likeable. However...I dont like the way the 3 james, david and danny all look the same (in clothes and hair and the way they are styled) and I dont like the dodgy dancing, mimicing westlife with the hand movements etc - its a bit cheesey! But apart from that ETON ROAD TO WIN.
