Watched it again last night, just reminded me of what a miserable bunch we must be in the country, Radiohead no1, it's a great album, but bloody depressing.

"Nearly as bad as Joy Division"

Oh dear! What is so bad about Joy Division? Is depressing music always inherently bad?

when the lead singer kills themselves it lessens what the music stands for in my opinion. theres enough depressing s..t going on in the world. i dont wanna hear some guy/band going on about things in a melancholy way all the time

That's like saying I don't want to believe anything bad ever happens. And how does Ian Curtis' suicide lessen his music in any way? He did it because he was depressed about his epilepsy and the break up of his marriage.

no its not, but wallowing in depression and then whining on about it in the name of 'art' is pointless

the best thing guys like ian curtis and curt cobain could have done is quit the business and disappear from the whole music biz to save their life

Joy Division were the "emo" of their day

I watched it again last night........I suppose we could prattle on for hours about personal favourites but nonetheless I was just reviewing the list above for any glaring omissions.

A little surprised that nothing by The Kinks was in there, perhaps they suffered in the sense that they've made dozens of great songs but not enough on any one album (although Something Else and Village Green........ are consistently good).
