Which phone?
That nice Santa Claus brought me some money, well actually I am tight and don't want to spend anymore than £100 on a new mobile. What are peoples opinions on what I should get, I am on T-Mobile and want to keep my old sim card. I also have a few ideas in mind, I am thinking about a Motorola T191. What do you guys think?

Firstly I suggest you dump T-Mobile becasue they are a complete ripoff! That way you will have more money to spend on a better phone. The T191 is ok. Trendy phones have colour displays these days. Starting prices around £150.

T-Mobile are not a rip off, if you use your mobile a lot it will be cheaper than most other networks pay as you go service esspecially cross network, and if you are using your mobile that much, then you should be considering contract to get a better deal, as Pay as you go is not for you (unless under 18) as you can get better rates on pay monthly price plans. T-Mobile/One2One has never been a rip off, and was that much cheaper than Voda/Cellnet up until recently it was shocking!

I am under 18, plus texts only cost 10p not 12p whish means an extra 1 text for every 5 kind of. Anyway I can't be bothered to change networks.

You would have to use your phone an awful lot to get any benefit from T-Mobile by which time you would be better on a contract as you suggest Ripsaw. Unfortunatley this isnt an option for you
Drinking_Gecko. Vodafone pay as you go text mesages start at 12p. Every other pay as you go operators start at 10p. Orange Just Talk Origional with a £50 voucher you can get them for 5p a message. |

I got a Siemens MT50 (£59.99). Anyway I don't care about how much T-Mobile costs. It's not a problem.

We got the youngest son a Nokia 3410 for Christmas which seems a very decent 'phone plus he can compose on it and send us the tunes for the price of a text message which cannot be bad.

I thought all networks were 12p? My brother was on BT Shitenet and they are a complete joke. He was charged 10p PLUS tax for texts, also now that they've been taken over by o2 they are still crap, he went to get his number ported onto one of the o2 sim card deals which seem very good, but somehow the stupid cow managed to port his new number onto his OLD sim card!
Seems impossible but she managed to do it OK, took them over a month to reply then he just said sod it and kept the new one after they swapped it again. Thats how I think of o2! By the way go here and you'll get all the free ring tones (polyphonic and all), logos and screensavers you'll need. It's all free! |
