WOW,, like Mcgregor or not, that was a stunning knockout over the pound for pound best fighter in the world. Ii thought a couple of weeks ago Mcgregor had won the battle of the mind, but at the weigh in Aldo seemed calm and ok with it, so i was unsure who would win, but before the bell Aldo looked nervous again, but in no way did i think Mcgregor would knock him out in 13 seconds.
I enjoyed the Rockhold v Weidmann fight, Weidmann looked really good in the 1st round, but the kicks from Rockhold knackered him out i think. I still hate the fact Sky Sports doesnt even mention the UFC, its a legitimate sport and i'm disgusted at the way Sky Sports ignores it ![]() ![]() ![]() It seems if Sky doesnt have the rights to a sport then they completely ignore it as if it doesnt exist. Sky Sports news should be just that,, news about all sports, instead of repeating the same news every 15 minutes |

Sky are definitely being petty alright. They have the exclusive rights to dozens of sports and big events : it's as if they're throwing their toys out of the pram because they can't show UFC and are therefore pretending it doesn't exist.

Weidman and Rockhold both looked terrible health wise, not sure how much weight they cut but surely they should bring in some guidelines for it.
Missing out on a lot of great fights if fighters were nearer their natural weight and in tip top condition methinks. As for the main event, wow, that was just awesome. |

But it's what makes him the huge star and showman of UFC that he is. If he was quiet and modest and unassuming, he wouldn't have tens of thousands of Irish fans travelling over to support him. Like or loathe him, the guy is an entertainer and very charismatic.
And he's made Aldo rich as well. As much as Aldo's pride must be hurt to get his biggest ever pay-day for 13 seconds work can't be all bad ![]() What's the next big UFC fight I should look out for people? |

Yep. And I'm in the like camp. Nearly always am when a guy talks the talk and delivers. He's also ten times better at spitting on the mike than say, the forced and bigoted nonsense that Tyson Fury comes out with. It Mcgregor wasn't a fighter, you just know he'd be a rapper or stand-up comic and probably be top notch at both.

Cyborg vs Holm.
The only person I can see them letting Cyborg fight would be Rousey, but she'd need to get clean first and then there is the weight issue. |

I still hate the fact Sky Sports doesnt even mention the UFC, its a legitimate sport and i'm disgusted at the way Sky Sports ignores it I do agree with that. SSN should be news reporting on all the major sporting stories from around the world. It will never be that though. I doubt BBC news reported it either as while UFC/MMA is legitimate is still pretty small over here. Check the papers on Monday and the coverage given to the boxing compared UFC and Mcgregor is quite the difference. It seems if Sky doesnt have the rights to a sport then they completely ignore it as if it doesnt exist. Sky Sports news should be just that,, news about all sports, instead of repeating the same news every 15 minutes UFC/MMA is a niche sport. Can someone please explain what Aldo was trying to do? He didnt try to shoot, he wasnt throwing punches and just seemed to run forward into a punch. Looked pretty comical for someone so experienced. |

Cyborg has gone from a planned fight at 140 to now fighting at 145 which tells you all you need to know. Cyborg/Rousey has always been the plan and I don't believe for a single second she'd even attempt to cut to 135 unless it was for Ronda. There's not a chance Cyborg will be fighting Holm next year and even less so Holm moving up weight to do it when she's the 135 champion.

If White offers both fighters $10m to fight each other I can't see either fighter refusing. Especially as they have gone on record saying that they are up for it.
They aren't going to abandon everything they've said or felt in the past. Dana always wanted Cyborg to prove she could cut down to 135, so far there's no indications Cyborg can do that. Holm beating Rousey isn't going to change that he doesn't want his champion having to step up in weight just to fight Cyborg. My view before was that we'd see Cyborg fight in the UFC if she proved she could cut the weight or if Rousey stepped up to catchweight in her final fight before retiring from MMA (which was always unlikely). Cyborg isn't big enough to suddenly build an entire new division in the UFC . The consensus is she'd have the Rousey fight and never be seen again inside the UFC. The chances of seeing Cyborg fight in the UFC will solely hinge on Rousey/Holm 2 IMO. If Rousey loses that fight there's a massive chance she walks away from the sport. Holm/Cyborg isn't even close to the level that Rousey/Cyborg would draw which is why I don't believe for one moment they'd go all out to make it happen. With Cyborg going back to 145 now if anything we're back to square one and less likely of seeing her in the UFC. |

Main event of UFC London on 27th February is now Bisping v Anderson Silva, meaning it's probably the highest profile fight the UK's had in some time.

Don't think so, can't see anything
It doesn't work like that though, Fedor v Brock would have done an eye watering number of buys in 2010, (probably more than Rousey v Cyborg before Rousey lost) but they couldn't make it happen, and Fedor was almost certainly offered more money than anyone before or since. |

It is a great shame that peak Fedor never competed in the UFC.
