What the hell were Overeem's tactics for that fight
, in a fight where he didnt look like he wanted to fight he almost won , but the hands up in a non fighting style and running away was very odd.Gutted for Jo Jo her opponent was just way too strong for her. CM Punk , i don't know what to think at all about this, i respect him for getting in the octagon but surely a professional MMA cage is not the place to have a go at a new sport because you want to test yourself. I don't know nothing about him tbh and in the months leading up to this i found out he had never ever had a fight either professionally or amateur and only two years of training, i know every fighter has to have their first professional fight at some stage but usually they have some experience, CM Punk had zero experience, imo i don't think the fight should have been sanctioned , it was one of those fights that could have seen him hurt badly, after the fight i was hoping he would say he realises he is nowhere near the standard he should be and that was that , but no, he says he wants to fight again ![]() Sadly the UFC is only about money, some of the cards in recent years have been dreadful, i remember in the early 2000's every month they had huge fights, every title fight was between the big names at the time, these days it feels really diluted with big exciting fights few and far between. Last night looked a bit amateurish imo, the ref in the Travis Browne debacle with stopping because of his finger looked clueless as to the rules , he also gave Faber a warning for an accidental kick to the groin , then the mess with Werdum kicking Browne's trainer after the fight.

Really upset with Overeem, throwing a title fight away like that. Thought he was going to do a McGregor but he's literally running around the octagon like he's trying to flee the place.
This is the guy who stood there and flattened Junior Dos Santos, can't believe he would be scared of Miocic. How many more fights will he have to win to get another title shot now? |

I thought Werdum was pretty out of order. For all the smiles, I guess the Brazilian penchant for a little deceit is never that far away.
He sees Travis' finger and even points at it, then watches as Travis backs away and speaks to the ref, the ref makes the Timeout motion and then Werdum punches him. That's just dirty despite the apologist that is Rogan trying to bail him out with the rules being uncertain. If that then isn't bad enough, he then push kicks Browne's trainer after the fight because he shouted at him. Seemingly he did this because he could see in the eyes of the trainer that he was going to get punched. Paul Daley gets fired for punching Koscheck after the bell, whilst Werdum receives what punishment was it for kicking a trainer in the ring after a fight......nothing. As for Overeem, for all his strength and size, it's well known that he has a jaw made out of glass. Hence why he is usually running away from the punches. Stipe deserved the win and Alistair's nonsense at the end about how he thought Stipe tapped is indicative of what a whiner he really is. |

Surely Connor will eventually have to give up his title, as he doesn't look like defending it anytime soon.

I think they want him to have 2 belts to tick that box and then make him decide if he wants to drop down again or give up the belt. How many other fighter can have 3 fights and none of them are title defenses.

Also see Jose Aldo has asked to be released from the UFC following the decision not to allow him to fight Conor again. Goes along with my point above and shows just how much control Conor now has.
Surely Aldo deserves a rematch? Before losing to Conor he had never lost in the UFC and defended the belt 7 times, yet Dana White seems to think he is not deserving of a rematch. I know it is about money and I understand that but surely a guy who held the belt for 4 years deserves a shot at getting it back? EDIT - I say above it is his first attempt at 145 but of course it is not, but still he walks back in to a title fight in a different weight division from where he has just been fighting and from the division he is champion of. |

All about the money! Which I guess is how it works these days. |

Yep it is for sure. I remember seeing White on a interview few years back and he was saying why the UFC is loads better than boxing ever will be. The main reasons he said was because they have a proper ranking system which means the right fights are always made. Yet lately we have CM Punk fighting on a main PPV card in his 1st ever real fight and now all this stuff going on with Conor.

Take away the Bisping/Henderson match, UFC 204 looks god damn awful. Very very poor card and that as well as the stupid 5am local time main event fight time, put me off getting a ticket for the event.
Shame they did not bother making this a good card, seeing as it 1st time in 6 years a main PPV UFC event has been held away from America. They might as well not bothered to be honest. I heard Bisping saying the crowd will be super pumped up by 5am...hahaha, not a chance. A good 90% of them would of been on the piss from 8ish that night, so come 4/5am a lot of people will be just tired and wanting to go home. |

Also why does Bisping keep saying he is from Manchester and fighting in his home town when he was grew up and raised in Clitheroe which is like 30 miles from Manchester. In fact Preston, Blackburn and Burnley are all closer to him!

No one in America has probably heard let alone know about those other places, so hence the reason why he probably chose to use Manchester as his home town.

Not long to go now, if Hendo lands the H-Bomb again.
![]() Even though he's been on a losing streak I think styles do make fights and Bisbing was scared the first time - like Chuck and Tito, he left himself wide open so if he's stupid enough to do it again I won't have much sympathy. |

I just about gave it to Bisping tbh, but i wouldn't have minded if Henderson won , what a way to end a fantastic career if he had become champ.
I'm really happy we have a British Champion in the UFC , i honestly wasnt sure it would ever happen, but i'm just not a fan of Bisping , his trash talking before a fight is just classless imo. Reading comments on Facebook i'm getting the feeling that last night was a bit of a disaster for some people, there were people way too drunk causing trouble , even people asleep as the Bisping fight was on , Taxi's charging double fare and parking charges increased, a huge rip off all round it seems. Sod that, i would rather watch it on TV, especially as it was a very weak card, even the prelims to 205 look a better main card than last nights effort. I don't know whether its since the UFC has changed owners but over the last year or so its become worse and worse for making huge fights. |

I feel bad for wanting Hendo to have a fairytale end to his career, everyone is saying Bisbing is going to get wrecked by every other fighter in the division.
He almost did it, damn that H-Bomb - history almost repeated itself, if he had worked on his cardio a little more he might have taken it, 46 is old for a fighter but men that age run marathons and triathlons. Back to rooting for Bisbing again, when he took out Rockhold I was jumping out my seat.

To be fair, if you are going to take a belt from a champion, you really do have to go that extra mile and though Hendo rocked Bisping I think he just didn't do enough to take the belt. When both fighters are equal the decision will always go to the defending champion as the challenger should be going that extra mile to earn it.
Saying that, and I appreciate that Bisping was concerned about the big H bomb, I wish Michael had pushed it a little more in the later rounds to put a more serious stamp on his title defence. Following his 'puncher's chance' against Rockhold and this 'okay' performance, I can't see him holding the belt against a determined Weidman or a not so complacent Rockhold. |

Ronda us back!
UFC 207 v Nunes, be an interesting fight, presumably there will be a bit of ring/octagon rust from the former champ. |

I enjoyed the Dos Anjos v Ferguson fight , if McGregor wins the title next week , i think a McGregor fight v Tony Ferguson would be interesting to see , similar styles of fighting.
I can't wait for 205 next week, even next weeks prelims could have a night on its own imo. |
