I think this is a good post and I mostly agree with this. However, it has to be acknowledged, especially with Rousey out of the picture until the Nunes fight, that Conner is the big box-office draw ATM and there is a large helping of rough charm with his antics, compared to a complete blockhead like Bisping for example. But at least both can fight, take the risks all fighters do and add value to the sport. It's the preening, fake-alpha, arrogance of Dana Shite I can't stand - you'd think he'd won 100 fights in the octagon the way he acts - like he's the Elvis of the UFC - when in fact he'd be nowhere if his business partners hadn't put up the money to buy it. Add to that his tendency to start unecessary, immature feuds all over the place and that even his own mother doesn't like him and you have a thouroughly dislikeable individual. God, I wish Ortiz had kept his promise to fight him......
There are great fighters out there with real heart but they are being run over by the greed obsessed ufc and a dearth of new fans seduced by a showboating loudmouth. |

I really enjoyed the demetrious johnson vs tim elliott fight , for an underdog he really gave Mighty Mouse some problems .
Johnson seems like the most complete champion imo I'm looking forward to seeing how Pettis does at Featherweight , his career seemed to take a dip at Lightweight |

I wonder who will be Mighty Mouse's next challenger, as he is so dominant in that division.

Dominick Cruz beat him last time they fought. Would like to see a rematch.

Yeah that would be good, perhaps Connor might be interested in getting the pound for pound title off of him, as well as his real title!

McGregor has been cast as a baddie in the next series of Game Of Thrones. I guess that's the route he'll be taking with his career from now on.

Cyborg fails a drug test after UFC set up a 145lbs womens division for her in the hope that she could make 145lbs.
Which is exactly the same thing as happened in Strikeforce. |

Such a shame, the potential is always there with her, but she just keeps on messing up at vital moments.

I don't normally gamble but I don't think I can resist this one. Sky bet are offering 1/3 on Both Fighters Not To Touch Gloves Pre-Fight. This is for the rehoused-nunes fight I have never seen rousey touch gloves.
If I had a spare £3k (which I haven't) you would get £4K back. Do you think the definition means that both fighters are not allowed to even attempt to touch? Or do you think it means they cannot physically touch gloves ? This seems like a no brainer for a quick few quid to me. What's your thoughts? Please ignore typos if any. |

Well good to see her lost has made Rousey more humble...bloody hell she is more annoying than ever.
Refusing to do any media stuff all week (which Dana agreed to) and walks round with that very annoying cocky looking face. And of course she won't touch gloves as she thinks she is above everyone on. I for one hope she gets another beating and then retires |

I'm looking forward to it tbh , its going to be interesting to see if Ronda is back better than ever like they are claiming, i'm interested to see her fight weight and whether she will look in good shape and not bloated like for the Holm fight.
I just don't have the same buzz i used to have about 10/15 years ago for the UFC , i still watch all the cards but the excitement isnt there anymore for me , sadly it really is McGregor and Rousey that excite me , i think because they are hyped so much the interest in seeing if they will be beaten is the thing that keeps me gripped , in the past fighters seemed to get the same hype from the company so every fight seemed a big fight , now its like the new UFC owners arent interested. |

Am very intrigued by tonights match up, but don't think I'll be able to stay up for it. Will have to record and avoid spoilers 2mmrw b4 watching. However, I take rhumble's point about slightly declining interest. The sport could do with a few other superstars (not just good fighters, of which it has many) and less hype about it's potential marketability, celebrity investors and zillion % profit in the recent sale. Mature sports, such as the Prem, NBA, NFL or even baseball and the WWE don't need to constantly tell us how successful or marketable they are. And UFC could also do with much, much less Dana White.

It is going to be a struggle you stay up until whatever ungodly hour the main event will start, as of course with it being New Years eve, there will be partying to be done there, so I will need some sleep for that, so something will have to give, and just like Makosi above, I might just have to try and go spoiler free to try and catch up with things after I get some sleep.

The result was just how I thought it would go.. hopefully the end of the hype train that follows the loser of the main event
all this garbage about being the best pound 4 pound fighter retirement looms as no where else to go IMHO in the fight game |

Just caught up with the main event, as I couldn't stay awake to watch it, and we'll, good bye to to miss Romsey, her time has well and truly finished now.
May she make the move to WWE now I say, as there isn't anything left for her in UFC now. |

So Rousey earned 3 million dollars and Nunes got 100.000 dollars plus a win bonus
the pay structure of the UFC seems to be a joke Roll on Khabib V Mcgregor so that the Conor Hype train gets also derailed |

Glad to see the back of Rousey, she comes over like a spoilt brat all the time.
Also glad Cruz got dropped and picked apart, such a cocky little twerp, unfortunately hes been replaced by another but oh well..! |
