So Rousey earned 3 million dollars and Nunes got 100.000 dollars plus a win bonus
the pay structure of the UFC seems to be a joke Roll on Khabib V Mcgregor so that the Conor Hype train gets also derailed |

Wow , who the hell is teaching Rousey her stand up game ??, she looked like a toddler with no clue, the way she had her hands up it looked like she was an novice from the start, she looked in great shape so she can't blame that , the only way Rousey can ever come back is a complete new team of coaches , she needs to sack her current team imo otherwise thats her career over.
Having said that Nunes precision power would have stopped anyone, it looked so easy , brilliant stuff from her, difficult to see who can beat her now , Holm is back next month so i guess if Holm wins it will be Nunes v Holms I loved the Cruz v Garbrandt fight, that was superb, Garbrandts movement was excellent he made Cruz look awkward, i look forward to Dillashaw and Garbrandt next year, that should be a cracker of a fight. |

Just caught up with the main event, as I couldn't stay awake to watch it, and we'll, good bye to to miss Romsey, her time has well and truly finished now.
May she make the move to WWE now I say, as there isn't anything left for her in UFC now. |

I think Rousey will move up to the new Featherweight Division.

Meisha Tate said that Nunes hit harder than anyone else she fought and predicted that it Rousey got hit on the button it would be a game changer and so it proved. Nunes went for it like Anthony Johnson and Ronda needed to be Daniel Cormier but instead fought a stupid fight. Now if Tate knew how hard Nunes hit, Rousey's coaches should have as well and planned around that. Instead Ronda tried to trade like a novice. By the time Ronda tried her first takedown she was already done and Nunes just shrugged it off. Surprised to hear that Cruz was made to look awkward and slow in the other fight. Haven't seen him much, but he always looked pretty slick and fast to me. Anyone got a link to that fight? Can't seem to get anything other than pre-fight hype videos on 'tube. |

I don't want to write her UFC obituary just yet. Physically, I think she still has a shot, but mentally I don't know. After being hyped to be invulnerable and then sufferring two knockouts in a row - the last in just 48 seconds - that has to mess with anyone's head.

The fact that she has already talked about retirement, was a sign that her head wasn't fully there, you don't talk about it in as much depth as she did, without it being something that she must have given serious thought to doing. Despite these past few defeats, she is still marketable enough for movies and WWE, so I can see her still having a successful career outside of the UFC, as there really isn't much for her to do now there, as I don't think she comes across as someone who will just be a gatekeeper, or someone happy to make up the numbers, it is title matches, or nothing as far as she is concerned, and with that very comprehensive defeat, I can't see her getting another chance (unlike Aldo and his quick defeat, somehow he managed to get that particular title back). |

To put my smug hat on a little bit, this was something I always predicted would be the case. Ronda always had a tendency to take punches while trying to engage the clinch, and when you're going up against one of the hardest hitters in the division it was only going to end in one result, especially against someone who was ring rusty and still IMO not in the ideal frame of mind.
That being said, I'm still happy that she took this fight. The Holly loss and her absence left this air of uncertainty around the WBW division, the new breed of fighters like Nunes, Shevchenko, Pena and Pennington not getting the credit they deserve due to not doing it against the sport's benchmark. Thanks to last night though a line in the sand was drawn, with the old guard of Rousey, Tate and Carano passing the torch to a new generation of fighter, with Nunes as an affable and dominant figurehead. There's going to be short-term grief for Rousey, but when all is said and done time will filter out the negatives and people will appreciate her impact for the sport. People don't remember Royce Gracie as a past-it dinosaur scrambling against Matt Hughes, and the same will happen to Ronda in due course. |
