That is sad news.
As for Liddell, I think he gets another shot. I could even see him losing again and still fighting in the UFC, so long as it's not a white-wash. The guy is one of the biggest names in the sport -- they're not going to discard him unless they have to. (Had a bit of a laugh when I looked up Chuck's fight record. His fourth ever fight was against someone unfortunately named "Kenneth Williams") |

Haven't been able to catch up on my UFC for some time now and when I do, what do I see? the Iceman getting knocked out right in front of me. Damn! He went down like a chopped tree!
Is Chuck washed up now? I know he lost a couple of fights in a row a while back... pity, because he's one of the greats who took UFC into it's prime time age. Mind you, I always thought it'd just be a matter of time before the boxers took over from the wrestlers and kick-boxers in UF. Sure, 90% of true fights end up on the ground, but nothing stops a fight quicker than a well-placed punch. I see Forest griffin grinning like a chimp in the crowd... there's something about that guy. I want to hate him cos he comes across as so gormless, but he's just too damn likeable... is he the Frank Bruno of UFC?

Forrest is Light Heavyweight Champ now.
He beat a lacklustre Rampage Jackson for the title and will now fight Rashad Evans. He is likable, although the beatings he takes every fight means he will probably end up with brain damage.

No, you get hit in the head far less with MMA than boxing, which is one of the reasons why serious injury is rare. It's because knees, elbows and those mini-gloves are used that we see so much blood and so many cuts. As Joe Rogan points out at least twice a fight, it's often the glancing, grazing shots that cut.
Forrest will end his career with no more brain damage than he has now... Run Forest, Run!

Not as bad as the beatings Big Nog seems to take before getting a submission win. I swear that guy's head is full of concrete.
He is also Team Captain on this season's TUF alongside Frank Mir which started the other night on Spike. Lightweights and Light Heavyweights. |

Still one of the most enigmatic fighters in the game.

They've kept the same process they had last year for determining who gets into the house, which was a smart move. Good stuff. |

I'm not a huge fan of Bisping, but I can't stand that Leben idiot so at least for that reason I hope he gets destroyed.
The pressure is on Bisping though, Leben's away from home, throws bombs and he's got a hard head. I'd love a 1st round KO, but I can't see it. There's a few interesting fights on the card too like Vera vs Jardine and Kelly vs Davis. Should be a decent night. |

Hi there,
I was just wondering what some true fans of UFC think of Lesner? Has he got what it takes to be a succes, espically after loosing his first match. |

Lesnar is lucky that the current crop of heavyweights are poor compared to all the other weight classes. Having said that, apart from Coutoure, the rest of the top heavyweights in the UFC are all BJJ fighters, which makes a terrible match up for Lesnar. If the UFC want to market Lesnar then who do they match him up with after the Coutore fight? If he beats Randy then I guess it'll have to be the winner of the Mir/Nog fight, which is a dangerous fight for him.

The main reason for Lesnar's babying by the UFC is pretty much the same as Bispings, they are bridges to the public. In Lesnar's case it's to the mainstream American public who might not be into MMA yet and Bisping provides the UK interest. The only trouble with credibility is the MMA public never seem to forget. Hence why people like Koscheck, Sherk, Hughes etc get booed and even if Lesnar becomes HW champion he will still be considered ex-WWE even if he legitimately fought for the title. He's fighting Randy next and that's never a joke for anyone as Randy has a habit of finding the weakness and exploiting them and if Lesnar doesn't finish him quickly, I think Randy will embarrass him. Absolute nightmare for White if Randy wins too. Last fight of his contract and beats the UFC flagship HW. |

Randy's going to try and submit him. Can't see the striking game working against Brock and I doubt Randy will be able to take him down.

I have to give Randy credit though when it comes to dealing with awkward customers, he puts a lot of thought into it and doesn't necessarily take the most obvious route (Sylvia), so it remains to be seen. I'd love Randy to win though. |

Just hope it's not as much of an anticlimax as the Silva v Cote fight. That was just bizarre! |

I'm looking forward to it. Win or lose, Randy's fights are generally entertaining.
Just hope it's not as much of an anticlimax as the Silva v Cote fight. That was just bizarre! I've always liked Cote from his stepping up to take on Ortiz at short notice but even I know his limitations. He looked so small against Anderson and he's normally quite thickset. Silva could have finished that fight in the first 2 minutes. |

Quote from silva:
“There are many people saying I was disrespecting Cote, but this is absolutely not true. My game plan since the beginning was fight five rounds, inducing him to commit mistakes and capitalize on that during the first three rounds and look for the knockout during the fourth and fifth rounds. It was working, and the biggest proof of that is that I almost didn’t waste any blows. I connected with a couple of good punches and knees, but unfortunately he got hurt and the fight was over. This is not my fault.” Bizarre statement from a champ who's never gone past the 2nd round in 7 fights against some better opposition than Cote. |
