Lesner Vs Bisping for the HW title next year.
Imagine the hype, that looks the way they are going, to me anyway. Lesner has to get past Coture first though, should be a great scrap, but cant see it lasting more that 3 rounds, with Lesner dropping Coture, if he can stay on his feet. If it goes to the ground Coture should win. But Coture likes to give a good show, so can see him trying to stand, really really looking forward to it. |

I don't know how anyone can criticise the spider, as he is technically the best fighter in the UFC by a long stretch!
Bisping Vs Lesnar LOL, well I suppose it'd be funny ![]() I was thinking it'd be awesome for UFC100 which is like 6-8 months away to do an old skool night, no weight classes, progressive bouts, winner takes all.....I think those sorts of rules are illegal now though!! As for Lesnar himself, he's certainly a lump and I don't think mmany would like to face him but if he was to step in against a real MMA heavyweight like Fedor he'd get battered. |

Bisping's a middleweight so that'll never happen. Brock is twice the size of him!
![]() Could be wrong but thought he was, not much difference between them anyway. Coture used to fight at Middleweight no limit in heavy, just a minimum so it could happen |

With regard to Silva, it's because he is so good that the fight with Cote came under scrutiny. The man is a monster in that class. |

Lesnar vs Bisping could happen in the future, they are the biggest names either side of the pond, not because they are the best but because they sell tickets. It might not happen next year but i guarentee that it will happen one day |

It might not happen next year but i guarentee that it will happen one day As previously pointed out, Bisping got out of the 205 class because he was too small. So now he fights at 185lb. Lesnar has to cut weight to hit the weigh-in limit of 265lbs, so God knows what he's actual fight weight is. Bisping has yet to meet Maia, Leites, Silva etc. before he starts thinking about conquering LHW then HW. |

True but Hendo and Franklin are both on a different level, plus they're both bigger than Leben.

from f4wonline.com
Chris Leben tested positive for Stanazolol in a test administered by UFC on the day of his fight with Michael Bisping on 10/18 in Birmingham, England. Leben, who lost a three-round decision, has been suspended for nine months by UFC and fined one-third of his undisclosed purse. When informed of his positive test, Leben admitted using the drug but said it was months back and thought it would have cleared his system. Leben is the second fighter to fail a UFC administered drug test as opposed to an athletic commission test. The UFC shows in the U.K. are not governed by an athletic commission, so Marc Ratner, the company's Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, who had years of experience as the head of the Nevada commission, oversees the event, doing many of the jobs that an athletic commission would do. |

From Wiki: Stanazolol Used illegally in bodybuilding, typically "stacked" with other testosterone-based anabolic steroids, stanozolol is liked by many due to the fact it causes strength increases without excess weight-gain, promotes increases in vascularity, and will not convert to estrogen. It also does not cause excess water retention, and even sometimes is thought to have a diuretic effect on the body. Stanozolol is commonly used by athletes and bodybuilders alike to lose fat while retaining lean body mass. It is usually used in a "cutting cycle", to help preserve lean body mass while metabolizing adipose, although it has not been proven conclusively that it has any special fat-burning properties. Tit. |

I'd be suprised if most fighters didn't use some kind of banned substance in their training camp in the build up to a big fight.
Suprised at Leben but to be honest he's no great loss to the UFC. |

Epic fight I hope. ![]() We've had some massive highs, and some woeful lows and then we had the UFC contract debacle which soiled the latter part of his career. What goes in Randy's favour is being able to exploit opponent's weaknesses and with Brock being relatively new to MMA I don't think he's savvy enough to cope with Randy. If Randy can survive the initial onslaught, he should be able to out-think Lesnar and not get trapped like Herring did. I'm split, it's either Lesnar by KO, or Randy on unanimous points. My dream result would be a bloody TKO by Couture. |

Anyone watching TUF? Apparently this week is Nover's fight. He's the one to watch in the lightweight class. |

To answer the OP's question; yes.
However I'm a relatively new fan, so forgive me if I ignore most of the previous pages - I'm not yet sufficiently up to speed to contribute to the discussion that's been going on. I must say that as a boxing fan, I sneered at the UFC for a long time. Like many boxing fans - some of whom I have been trying to introduce to MMA - I charaterised it as brutal street-brawling, lacking in the technical subtleties of boxing. In fact I was only forced to watch it when my nephew stayed with me and begged me to watch with him as a sort of "boy's night in". Let me tell you I was hooked almost from the start. The thingsthat stood out for me were the contrasts with the bad things about boxing. For example it seems that boring fights where one fighter negates a superior opponent by spoiling - or even by running away (a la Witter v Judah and so on) simply aren't tolerated in the UFC. Neither does there seem to be the frustrating and ridiculous situation of top fighters refusing to fight one another in case their career is damaged - exciting fights between top fighters where the outcome is unpredictable seem far more common in UFC from what I've seen so far. In addition I'm hugely impressed by the respect these supremely hard men often show each other both before and after the fight. Far from being the sport of savages I used to believe it to be, it seems that UFC has a code of honour that boxing could and should learn from. And finally there is my other misapprehension, The skill and technique in the sport - especially in the ground game - and the tactical considerations that are needed to overcome different styles of opponents is a huge surprise to me. I'm learning a whole new vocabulary - "Omaplata" (sp?) "Triangles", "Arm Bar" etc. Again the unpredictability of the sport is one of the most thrilling things about it. There's nothing more exciting than seeing a fighter pinned to the floor in a ground-and-pound, seemingly gone for all money, only to see him execute some breathtakingly skilful manouevre and force a submission from a seemingly hopeless position. Oh - and the superb Joe Rogan is the icing on the cake. Pure sport at it's best. |
