I'm learning a whole new vocabulary - "Omaplata" (sp?) "Triangles", "Arm Bar" etc.
Don't forget 'looping over-hand right', 'swinging for the fences' and my personal favourite Rogan quote from the Silva v Irvin fight 'wow that cut looks like a goats vagina!'

I can't see that happening. Randy's best chance is to go for the sub but even that's risky for him as I'm sure sub defence is all Lesnar's been training on.
Me neither, but I'm still hoping. I'll never forget how loud I shouted when Sylvia went on his arse from the first punch.

Anyone watching TUF? Apparently this week is Nover's fight. He's the one to watch in the lightweight class.
Yeah, every Thursday morning. There are some genuinely good fighters this year and I don't mean that idiot Browning.

To answer the OP's question; yes.
Welcome convert.

Yeah very true. I didn't give Randy much of a chance against Sylvia either.

With a few of the other MMA orgs folding recently we should be seeing some new talent in the UFC soon, hopefully a few more decent heavyweights as I think this is the weakest division at the moment.

I know we don't have an official MMA thread as such, but slightly related to UFC through ownership, WEC 36 was an unbelievable event with some amazing fights.

Modelled virtually identical to the UFC now, even down to the ring girls wearing the same stuff, same cards, same pose, same seats as the UFC girls.

A definite watch. (for the fights, not just the ring girls!)

WEC is owned by UFC and seen as a bit of a feeder federation. Is it on the telly over here or are you watching it on the web? I hear Faber and Filho (before his breakdown the other night) are both worth a watch.

When's Brock fighting Kimbo, that's what I want to know!

I don't watch any TV if you know what I mean.

Yeah WEC seems to promote the lighter weight classes and has a lot more small classer inc bantam, welter and featherweight and because it's owned by Zuffa, it's not going to go anywhere.

The fight of the night for me was Jake Rosholt vs Nissen Osterneck. Seriously exciting stuff with one making his debut. An absolute war.

The Faber fight was incredible but the Filho one sucked.

(Brock will fight Kimbo after Randy retires him!)

If Randy can survive the first minute then it will be an awesome fight. Lesnar will be intimidated by him, regardless of his last fight, the experience he has is just incredible.

Watching him take on that beast Vitor Belfort in the early UFC events, incredible fight.

The UFC have apparently ditched Werdum after he got KO'd by Dos Santos. Strange move as I don't see many contenders outside of the top 4. Maybe Shane Carwin after he's fought some tougher opposition?

Really looking forward to the fight tonight, can see Randy giving Lesnar a beating.

But saying that Lesnar has the power to change any fight.

It will be one hell of a scrap

Don't quote me on this because of the damn time zones and daylight savings etc but I think we are 5 hours ahead of New York which is ET and we are 8 hours ahead of PT and it starts at 10pm ET and 7pm PT.

So I make that 3am Sunday morning in the UK.

If I'm right the Gods will smile on me and Randy will win by a bitchslap in the first round.

It was anything but easy.

Caught Randy with a right hand to the temple, not sure if you have ever been hit in the temple but it sort of throws you off balance.

Good fight though while it lasted.

Randy was too small. good performance by Brock!

I still think he will struggle against a BJJ guy though. Not convinced by Brock when it comes to submissions. UFC heavyweight division still sucks..

Fedor would beat Brock easily, Josh Barnett would not have any problems with Brock. Nog would probbaly make it a tough fight but he would submit Brock. Even if Frank Mir beats Nog, I not sure Brock could beat Mir in a rematch.

Anyway the big news for me in MMA is not UFC related.

Kazushi Sakuraba vs Kiyoshi Tamura has been announced for K-1 NYE event at Saitama Super Arena.

I have waited so long for this fight to finally happen. At the press conference Sakuraba demanded special rules: no time limit and no gloves (just palm strikes).

Ah man I will be happy if K-1 book this as a pro-wrestling match under U-Style rules. MMA die-hards will go crazy but who cares. Saku vs Tamura under U-Style rules would rock!

Well it took him longer to win his first WWE title than four fights, that is for sure.
So this MMA stuff looks on paper a heck of a lot easier to win the top title than the WWE's!

Yeah that fight was tough, but it was a great shot to the temple, but that is what it is all about, connecting when it matters, and I didn't see anything out of Randy that really worried Brock at any stage really, yes there were a few good shots, but nothing out of the ordinary.

So a pro wrestler is the UFC's baddest mofo? If I was associated with UFC i'd be completely embarassed about that.

thats silly. Dan Severen and Ken Shamrock were pro-wrestlers before they had success in the UFC. Severen Won the UFC title while also holding the NWA Heavyweight title.

Kazushi Sakuraba was a pro-wrestler before he became a superstar in pride.

I can see why you would say this though as the WWE is a pathetic joke and well a stupid circus if you ask me. I refuse to watch it myself. WWE is not the be all of pro-wrestling though. There is other stuff out there!

Shamrock was MMA, went to WWE and then went back to MMA.

Just shows how lame UFC is IMO when a fake wrestler can become the World Champion. You wouldn't see a pro-wrestler becoming world heavyweight boxing champion would you? I think the bloom is off the rose now for UFC, people are starting to see through the hype and they don't like what they see.
