Well guys the Ultimate Fighter final was on virgin 1 on sunday and what a final, the 2 brit's fighting each other wasn't the greatest of fights and I thought it went the other way but it was very close, the welterweight fight next up was a cracker then the brit v the yank again a cracker he came out and went for it from the start and the yank didn't seem to able to cope with it despite all his talking before. Then finally the main event Sanchez v Guida I don't know how the hell Guida survived after the kick to the head and the 1st minute when they went punch for punch but again a cracking fight but the best man won in my opinion.

So 2 - 0 to the brits.

Hey Petestan

I was suprised at how many fights went the distance at the Finale.

I thought Ander Winner should have won the decision in the final, and I was hoping that he did win.

As for Demarques, he didnt turn up at all. From what I have seen of him he is so much better than that final fight, not sure what happened there!

Guida is an animal. I cannot stand Sanchez, wish Guida knocked his head off but giving Sanchez his dues he came out quick and thats what he had to do to stand a chance. Guida took that head kick, took the flurry of punches at the start and the elbows from the ground and still managed to fight through and admit that he enjoyed it all at the end! Legend.

A big fighter of the future from the UK is Terry Etim, he is going to be a big in the UFC

UFC terminates it's agreement with Setanta.

http://www.ifight365.com/2009/06/ufc...etanta-sports/

Where next then will it go back to Bravo / Virgin 1 or to ESPN?

Will Bravo want it with their new British fights series BAMMA
(rubbish name IMO ) starting next week.

Noooooooooooooo, right before the biggest UFC card!!!

I think the UFC's too big to go back to bravo. They'll try for Sky or ESPN, which will probably mean PPV...

I set my V+ to record the TUF UK/USA finale from Setanta 1 on Saturday night/Sunday morning but ended up recording bloody rugby -Virgin had the wrong channel information.

"Not to worry, I can watch the repeat on Tuesday evening", I thought...

Now Setanta has ceased to be, 2 hours before the scheduled repeat!!!!!!

I can't believe this shambles; I cannot see a scheduled repeat on Virgin, so I suppose I'm out of luck. Bollocks!

I guess we can all forget about watching UFC 100 too.

Hopefully with it being such short notice UFC 100 will be on Virgin 1 or Bravo, although it may be on ESPN America I suppose although it's a bit short notice for people to subscribe to watch it on there.

The UFC have already officially said that UFC 100 will definatly be live on TV in the UK so I would think that will go to Bravo. However with Virgin already having TUF maybe they will take on the rest of the rota.

I cant see Dana going for the PPV option in the UK yet, the sport is growing massively in this country now, especially after the success at TUF 9 but I think that he will realise that they still have a lot of building to do before they can go PPV and start charging £15ish for each show. Maybe in a couple of years or so they could go for that option but not now, its too dangerous for them to do that when they are building a steady following.

Again rather than yet. UFC 70 was PPV

but given they've had talks already UFC 100 is likely to be Bravo

I don't think Bravo ever showed the vegas cards live, usually a delayed Sunday broadcast with so many adverts that they had to cut some of the fights

They did swop TUF from Bravo to Setanta though I would have thought that would have lost them a lot of viewers, it is only season 9 that has been shown on Virgin1 again. Maybe they have learned from it and will put it back onto Bravo/Virgin1, can Bravo/ Virgin1 afford it or are they still as interested in it seeing as they are up for sale?

Lots of questions we shall see what the answers are soon hopefully.

As I said on the very long setanta thread though I would rather they were shown delayed a day or 2 on Virgin1/ Bravo than be on PPV or having to pay extra for a sports channel (ESPN or SKY), it's not like the results are announced on the BBC sports news so it's easy to not find out the results.

I got my fingers crossed for a channel on DTT at least (so V1 for me).

The boss of the UK arm of UFC was on TalkSport last night, about an hour after word got out of Setanta closing, which I thought was very good PR for them.

He mentioned Channel 5, V1, Bravo, ESPN IIRC, and said they hope that it will be available to as many of the UFC's fans as possible.

EDIT, infact this is on uk.ufc.com:

UFC ENDS RELATIONSHIP WITH SETANTA SPORTSLondon, England – The Ultimate Fighting Championship(R) organisation has confirmed it has terminated its agreement with Setanta Sports.

Setanta had been the broadcaster of UFC(R) live events and programming since January 2008.

UFC UK Division President Marshall Zelaznik said: “It was with great regret that the UFC ended its relationship with Setanta. Over the last two years, Setanta has helped the UFC become the biggest indoor sporting event in the British Isles.

“They were the right partner for us at the right time as we continued to build the sport of mixed martial arts and our brand.

“Throughout the last few weeks we have been kept informed of the situation at Setanta and therefore we are in a position to ensure our UK and Eire fans will not miss any of this summer’s huge UFC events, commencing with UFC 100 in July.

“We will be announcing the new home of UFC shortly but assure our fans they won’t miss any of the upcoming super-fights."

And Zelaznik added: “And on behalf of the UFC I want to wish the team at Setanta all the strength to get through what must be very difficult times. We have worked very closely with the entire Setanta team over the past years and wish them the best of luck in the future."

I agree just to get the exposure to show it's not professional wrestling but a real sport.

Any other Virgin subscribers who missed the TUF Finale may be interested to know that it is on Catch Up TV - Virgin 1, for two more days.

Just looking on the uk.ufc.com site and I was going to say it is available as pay per view on yahoo sports worldwide and them I saw the message:

"We apologize, but UFC® PPV on Yahoo! Sports is not available to users in Italy, South Korea, United Kingdom, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and Sudan."

Don't know what we and Italy have done to upset yahoo sports!!!

Just had a look at the Radio Times site - Bravo have a 3-hour slot marked "TBA" between 9pm and midnight on July 12th - I'm not reading too much into this though...

Sorry, It maybe the beer I've had but from "Bravo are also interested in screening live fights, but Virgin 1 would seem a better fit if an agreement with ESPN or Five cannot be reached." to UFC100 live on Virgin1 seems to be a leap even for sun reporters. I'm not knocking the idea, but I don't think this is any more that a sun reporter's re-typing of the iFight post
