Come on guys the UFC 103 event was schedule for Sept 19th for months. The only reason it went up against PBF/Marquez was because the original July 18th date had to be postponed. How can anyone believe Dana's plan was to intentionally go up against PBF/Marquez when UFC was first by a long shot?!

People who watched UFC 103 (and in the US a free hour of commercial-free prelim action on Spike before the PPV) got a lot of knockouts and great fights. Those who watched the boxing saw some decent but not entertaining undercard action and a superior fighter dominate someone who has a lot of heart but not nearly the skill to beat said superior fighter.

UFC is in the position where it has the majority of top fighters under contract. Boxing has a ton of promoters, with multiple federations and a ton of championships. Getting fighters and promoters to agree fights is very difficult because of these factors and the fact that most of the promoters have TV deals with a certain channel.

UFC 103 vs Mayweather/Marquez was always going to be won by Mayweather. UFC 103 was not a big card and most insiders said going in that the boxing PPV would win easily.

These competitions where big Boxing fights go against big UFC/MMA events won't happen for too much longer. The PPV companies won't want the potential buying public split between two shows as it may result in less revenue for them. This happened years ago in Pro Wrestling with WWE vs WCW when one would have a PPV, the other would do a live free special. PPV got annoyed at the lower buyrates and put their foot down.

UFC 103 was rubbish. Plenty of early knockouts but how many of the fights were actually competitive. It was an average event with a main event that sucked.

This season of TUF is poor, the heavyweights have zero cardio and are all so bad!

Would you say that to his face. I think not

kimbo is far from a joke, could you move with that fat nelson sitting on you.

Its surprising how much kimbo splits the fans, you either hate him or love him.

I dont mind him, with a better ground game he could be quite good, at the moment his superior boxing is being negated as everybody is taking him to the floor as they all know he's crap down there.

....and at least he can string two words together and sound quite intelligent unlike most of them on that show ie, rampage

I don't hate kimbo, he seems like quite a good bloke but he's no MMA fighter. He'd have been better off going into boxing where he wouldn't have to worry about being taken down.

But that is the problem. Kimbo's ground game is just as bad as it has always been. He has not improved his grounds skills one bit.

His head movement is poor and is just waiting to be hit. He is a slow puncher also. You telling me his strikes looked good in the 1st round. He was slow and punches dodnt look hard at all!

Honestly in boxing or K-1, Kimbo would get destroyed.

Did you not watch Rick Story vs. Brian Foster? That fight was great.

As was Rob Emerson vs. Rafael Dos Anjos.

2 years training in MMA and he still doesnt seem to have the basics in knowing what to do when his on his back. You could learn more skills in 3 months which would be more effective in what Kimbo does which is nothing. Makes you wonder what he has been doing. Kimbo is nothing but a freak attraction and thats why the UFC got him in TUF. They knew he would attract the casual viewers and help them score a home run in the ratings. 4.1 mil this week and rumours are Slice has a 4 fight deal.

Kimbo is a joke and nothing but a carnival like attraction.

Just look at what White said about Kimbo in the past:

Quote:
“Internet sensation Kimbo Slice currently competes in rival organization EliteXC. Slice was made famous through street fights televised on Youtube.com.

White does not think that Slice is ready for the UFC.

"Sean Gannon beat him in a street fight. Everyone saw happened to Sean Gannon when he fought a guy that no one ever heard of (a decisive TKO loss to Branden Lee Hinkle in the UFC)," said White, "Gannon was in the hospital for three weeks."

"That's what would happen to Kimbo Slice if he fought in the UFC. He would get hurt bad - real bad," White said.”

Barnett calls out Nakamura
October 3rd, 2009

Quote:
“Former New Japan gaijin ace, Josh Barnett, now of IGF, has broken his silence on the issue of Shinsuke Nakamura seeking the “original” IWGP Heavyweight Title. Barnett provoked Shinsuke by saying if he wants the old IWGP belt to enter IGF and fight him, and prove himself on Inoki’s turf.

Should Nakamura accept Josh’s challenge, the company’s 11/3 show at JCB Hall in Tokyo would seem like a fitting destination. The show currently has Naoya Ogawa vs. Yoshihiro Takayama and Bob Sapp vs. Montanha Silva set but Barnett isn’t booked yet. Barnett, much like his days in New Japan, continues to juggle MMA with pro wrestling successfully, and is still considered to be one of the top heavyweight fighters in the world.”

Come on, they weren't as bad as this lot! Can you see anyone that's going to be a force in the heavyweight division?

Dana reckons that the fights get much better from here on so maybe there are a couple that we haven't seen yet.

Also sounds like Kimbo's going to be coming back in for an injured fighter.

Evans & Jardine are both legit top 10 LHWs.

Jardine isnt top 10 anything.

DREAM 11 tonight (tomorrow morning) can't wait

Jardine's got wins over 2 former LHW champs. He's certainly a top 10 UFC LHW and will have been in or around the top 10 after his win v Liddel, even if he didn't stay there long.

UFC 110 or 111 will be in Sydney, Australia!

Matt Serra vs. Frank Trigg is rumored to be on the card but Wanderlei Silva vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama is confirmed for Sydney!

You'd assume bad shoulder (?) guy is gonna get fed to Marcus for breakfast, but apart from that no. (Okay I have no inside info, but it's a reasonable guess!)
