I did have to agree with Rampage at one point this season and that was when he lost yet again to another weak choke out. He wasn't happy after that fight with the coaches and said they were trying to be too clever with the training and the guys just weren't good enough.
I also can understand his annoyance when Junk lost to Matrione, maybe that fight should have gone to a 3rd round. He frustration on the door though would have been better directed at Rashad or Titties, would have been more entertaining and positive to the show. Although I've like Rashad in the season, enjoyed his coaching and how he's really supportive of his guys and sometimes the guys on Jackon's team. In the last two episodes he's started to get to cocky and smart for his own good. When the coaches were calling out the fighters to discuss the Quater Final Matches I hated how he kept reminding us that Rampage only has one fighter and that it'll be a while for he gets to call him in. I was at that moment screaming at my TV for Rampage to stand up and kick his head off his shoulders. |

Isn't Dana the all powerful President of the UFC? So why doesn't he just order these fights to go to a 3rd round. If the refereeing and judging is as poor and questionable as a Premiership Referee in a United game, surely Dana should overrule them.
Roy Nelson's fights have been a joke. He's not done anything to win either of them. He beat Kimbo and never did any damage with his punches. Kimbo was just laid there taking in some breaths waiting for the referee to stand it up. |

As far as I'm aware the athletics commision provide the judges and the ref for any licensed bout. Makes sense that they're independant from the promoters to avoid any serious allegations of corruption and fight fixing.

If anyone is aware of the UFC 105 prelims, all of the fights have ended in KO or submission.
Paul Taylor vs. John Hathaway will be starting soon before the main card begins. This is the part where I step away from this thread because Spike TV is airing this for free at 8:00 PM PT on delay instead of PPV!

From WrestlingObserver.com Quote:
HUGE BREAKING UFC NEWS: Exclusive info on major fight off, megastar career in jeopardy, huge meeting
Brock Lesnar is in extremely bad shape and it will be some time as to when he will fight again. Lesnar, 32, went to Canada last week to try to get some rest, collapsed, and was rushed to the hospital. He has mono and also something else that he has requested confidentiality with the UFC as to what it is. Dana White said tonight that he promised Lesnar to keep the disease private, and said he doesn't have cancer or AIDS. It is, however, extremely serious and there are at least two things wrong and there may be more. Dana White is heading to Minnesota and will be working to get Lesnar to the Mayo Clinic or equivalent medical facility for treatment. Also, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has a very serious staph infection and his fight with Cain Velasquez at UFC 108 is off. Nogueira will need an IV to hopefully get the infection out. With Lesnar out indefinitely, Shane Carwin has undergone knee surgery, so he will not be available to face Velasquez at UFC 108. We can also report that Shane McMahon had a meeting at the UFC offices recently. Dana White, when asked for more information, responded, "No comment." |

Well, I think it'd be a surprise if he wasn't on the gas when he was in WWE, it may be side effects of that.

From the quotes I read from White, I didn't think it would be anything to do with steroids.
Shane McMahon in the UFC would be interesting and surprising! EDIT: Dana Quotes at http://www.ifight365.com/2009/11/ufc...-indefinitely/ |

Really enjoyed UFC 105 last night. Spike aired 2 prelim fights. What a KO by Gustafsson!
![]() Couture beat Vera in my book. Vera gave Couture way too much leeway to do whatever he wanted in the wrestling game. Hardy will get destroyed by GSP unless he learns that hurting your opponent doesn't mean shooting for the takedown. Swick could've been KOed last night instead of getting to a decision. |

I don't think anyone in the ww division can live with GSP's wrestling. I wouldn't fancy Hardy's chances of lasting 5 rounds, let alone winning.

Ross Pearson was great, he previously seemed to have a nerve problem, but he fought a very tight sweet fight showing some amazing skill, speed and accuracy. I hope he does well, he's a good little ambassador.
No idea what it is about Bisping but he irks me. He seems too involved with the crowd and what they're thinking and it seems an odd thing to say but even though he beat Kang his punching, kicking and general skill in that fight was horrible. Dan Hardy makes me smile. I love confident arrogance, and even if it pisses people off, it's an important tool in the box. He's a heartbreaker and I think that'll be important with the fight with Georges. GSP is a machine no doubt but he is petrified of the loss and negative reponse and that could lead to nerves, especially against a cocky new boy like Dan. I don't think that fight will be as cut and dried as most people think. Couture/Vera was predictably shit. Randy is an old favourite of mine, but he has seriously overstayed his welcome. Couple that with an unambitious journeyman like Vera and you're in for three rounds of sighing. Some amazing KOs for Winner and Gustafsson. Roll on 106 - I'm looking forward to Rumble getting hold of Koscheck. |

http://www.headkicklegend.com/2009/1...emelianenko-vs Quote:
The latest FEG-related rumor has hit the 'net and it is a big one. The fight that stole Tom Atcencio's smile, spawned a massive lawsuit from M-1 Global and upset a lot of MMA fans might happen on more drug-friendly Japanese shores early next year. Josh Barnett after failing to pass a drug test in the state of California sent Affliction into a fatal nosedive, sending them tails tucked back into the UFC's friendly embrace.
This left the megafight, the biggest challenge for Fedor outside of the UFC out of reach. There have been rumors about it happening in Japan, whispers if anything, and now an American outlet is reporting it is a bit closer to reality than we thought. Sources close to DREAM have informed MMA Recap (http://www.mmarecap.com) that Barnett will sign with DREAM and that Strikeforce and M-1 will indeed cross promote with FEG to deliver the epic matchup we’ve all been waiting for. The bout between Fedor and Barnett is tentatively scheduled for February of 2010, but no official date has been confirmed. Emelianenko and Barnett were originally supposed to fight at "Affliction: Trilogy" on August 1, 2009, but Barnett tested positive for steroids during a pre-fight drug test and the entire event was scrapped. |

There are a lot of rumours doing the rounds that Lesnar's mystery illness will mean that he never fights again. Not seen anything concrete yet though. |

From wrestlingobserver.com: Quote:
Yesterday, Dana White told the Associated Press that Lesnar is recovering from a bacterial infection in his intestinal tract. White is still encouraging Lesnar to check into the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for further treatment.
WCCO-TV, which is the CBS affiliate in Minneapolis, adds that Brock Lesnar is suffering from diverticulitis. Diverticulitis is a disease which is usually found in the large intestine. It forms large pouches on the outside of the colon, which then becomes inflamed. Treatment for diverticulitis usually involves no solid food, only being fed through an IV and an aggressive antibiotic treatment. Also, in severe cases, surgery can be required to remove the infected area of the colon. Surgery is usually avoided, unless it is a severe case, which Lesnar's appears to be. Dana White once again said that he does not know if Lesnar would fight again. |

Some really fat fighters in the UFC.
Just saw one, but he collapsed at the end of round 1 unable to stand up. Still, not as bad as Sapp vs Kimo, though at least he made it to Round 2. |

Do you guys get the UFC Fight Night cards? They air on Spike here but I'm not sure it airs in the UK.
The next FN will be in Virginia on January 11th and will have Nate Diaz vs. Gray Maynard in the main event with Efrain Escudero vs. Evan Dunham the co-main event. I like free fight cards but Gray Maynard is one of the most boring fighters in the UFC. |

Why the hell would the UFC make Randy fight coleman?? What a poor match up.
My problem is that this fight is going to be a co-main event due to the rash amount of injuries ![]()
