Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueria is the #2 rated (MMAWeekly.com) heavyweight in the world. He's a former PRIDE champion and holds a win over Mirko CroCop.

UFC70 looks to be even worse. Strange to hear that it will be available for free in the sates, whilst we have to pay the PPV this time.

Rampage Jackson v Chuck @ UFC71, now that's one I'm begging to see.
We have to pay due to it being live over here, they cannot expect people to pay upwards of £100 a ticket to go and watch it live but let people stay at home and watch it for free on the TV.

As you say UFC 69 seemed to lack that "big" match. It wasnt something that was exciting me as much as the previous 5 or 6 UFC events.

70 will be pretty much the same but as you say UFC 71 is going to bea stomer. I really cannot see Chuck being beaten but Rampage will definatly have a good go.

So is anyone here going to UFC 70? I'm travelling from Scotland to see it. Gonna go to the weigh ins the day before at Bridgewater hall and then to see Joe Rogan's stand up show at night. Then obviously UFC 70 the next night.

Should be a good weekend.

Did Rampage not kick the hell out of Lidell in a match in Pride not that long back?

Just got to see UFC69 and was stunned by Serra KOing St Pierre...never saw it coming and had Georges to win inside the first. Amazing. Koscheck vs Sanchez was a bitter disappointment and I was hoping Diego would shut Koscheck up, I never liked him and dont rate him as a fighter. The sooner someone shuts him up, the better. The other fights were not too bad, but it has pumped me up for UFC70 in a fortnight.

I missed the first episode of The Ultimate Fighter 5 - was it any good?

I have to admit I didn't think it was that good myself, was looking forward to it but just seemed a bit OTT with the hype.

Yes he beat Liddel in a Pride match but that was 2003, hardly not long back. Liddel is a much better fighter now. If Rampage can get Liddel down then he may have the advantage but I cant see him getting him down that easily.

TUF 5 was ok but it looks as though its going to get much better. The clips showed people fighting in the house, sqauring up etc, they are all like mad dogs who hate each other. I think this may be the best season so far.

Just for reference the second episode airs tomorrow night at 11pm on Bravo.

I think the season is going to be must viewing if only for the heat between BJ and Jens. The way BJ asked everyone to hold their hands up during selection in the first episode was brilliant.

I sent an email to setanta asking if there was anywhere on their website to allow me to get the UFC 70 PPV event a few days ago ( the numerous ads say go to their PPV channel and press red or was it press box office can't remember but nothing happens on my box) and haven't had a reply yet do they want anyone to subscribe? I am sure sky would have replied straight away?

You need to ring them to get it bought. If you are a sky customer ring 0845 840 7777 or if you are a virgin customer ring 0870 850 005. They may email you back but Im guessing they will ask you to ring those numbers.

Apparently Barry McGuigan has been airing his views on the UFC to the beeb.

I would pay good money to watch Bisbing "educate" him

Is anyone else having problems with Virgin ppv?

We are trying to order UFC and the events page isn't listing anything. Virgin have said to reset the box and then wait 15 mins but nothing is happening.

Any other ideas?

McGuigan, Warren and co. are just worried about the rising popularity of MMA & the UFC in particular. In the States UFC is now real competition to boxing.

If you ask me competition is good, boxing will have to up its game.

Just tried calling Virgin - they had me on hold for over half an hour, so I gave up. Will call them tomorrow to shout at them.

Turns out there's an outage problem at Virgin's end, and they won't get it fixed until 12:30am. So no Virgin customers will be able to see UFC 70...
