Not sure you guys saw the awesome KO via slam by Gerald Harris against Dave Branch in the preliminaries.

Fight was kinda dull then in the 3rd round Harris just slammed him unconscious.
yeah that was freakin awesome and harris should be applauded for seeing he was out and not going for another punch.

It looks likely that UFC 120 will be headlined by Michael Bisping against Vitor Belfort.

Belfort would blast him out of the arena.

yeah Bisping is so not that good, but belfort will still beat him even though he is past his best.

Cant say I am that excited about the fight to be honest. not something I would pay to see live even though I am right near the O2 arena.

It was a good fight for Brock. We saw two things here that we hadn't seen before: that he has a good chin and that he has some submissions.

Some have criticised his stand-up in this fight -- he may not have even landed a shot, maybe a couple of knees. But I think that kind of criticism is foolish. Of course Brock isn't going to stand and trade with Carwin. Carwin's striking is far too dangerous.

The Fedor fans insist Brock would stand no chance against the Russian. But if he can take Carwin's shots, and outclass him on the ground, surely a fight with Fedor would go the same way. Carwin is a far better wrestler than Fedor and has the kind of frame you need if someone as big as Brock is on top, but Lesnar had no difficulties finishing the fight. You could also argue Carwin is the heavier hitter, although Fedor has heavy hands too.

Too bad we'll never see Fedor in the UFC.
I been on holiday and forgot to sky+ the event but from what I have read, lots of people are saying Brock was like Bob Sapp and started running once he got hit. Seems that Carwin only lost as he was totally gassed out. Did Brock really outclass Carwin on the ground or was Carwin so gassed that by the 2nd round the fight was done as a contest? From what I have read, the takedowns from Brock were very sloppy!

I Still need to see the fight but if brock turns like Sapp when being hit than Fedor would beat him no doubt. I would even back Josh Barnett to beat Brock.

I was under the impression that Lyoto Machida was a big noise in UFC/ MMA.
Then I watched a fight between him and another fella (don't know his name), and Machida got battered half way through the first round !

Lyoto Machida is a big noise, but Shogun Rua maybe a bigger noise!

Frank Mir vs Minotauro Nogueira is the main event of 119, with Ryan Bader vs Antônio Rogério Nogueira as the semi main.

Bisping/Akiyama will be the UFC 120 main event. Unbelievable.

The event is not a PPV here it's on cable TV on delay so unfortunately you're going to get the short end of the stick. There is no way they would allow a big fight to be shown here for free so you're stuck with the usual Brit fighters instead of elite talent.

UFC has signed Strikeforce champ Jake Shields, and he'll fight Martin Kampmann at UFC 121: Brock vs. Cain

My word. Jon Jones just obliterated Vladimir Matyushenko but the real shock was Tyson Griffin getting KTFOed by Gomi.

Jones looked good, although Vladdy wasn't that much of a step up from Vera (imo) - give him someone tougher but not in the top 5... maybe griffin?

hardly. The last thing a fighter loses is his power. Gomi can still punch but his finished.

No one had ever stopped Tyson Griffin before that. How can you say he's finished?

because hes using pro wreslting logic, trust me ive posted on wreslting forums and these guys all think the same

in his view gomi is too old and should give up his "spot" by working a "program" with a young fighter and "jobbing" to him

im sorry if i come across like im attacking you but its just i wanna help you wake up for your current mindset because ive seen it so much in the past and its not healthy

Sonnen playing "heel" is money.

UFC 117 PPV buyrate is due to his talk and his talk alone.

He's still gonna be the babyface against Silva, in the arena.

Problem he's got is it's likely Silva will beat him pretty effortlessly, making the build up meaningless. I hope Sonnen wins, but it's a long shot.

Not meaningless for UFC's point of view. Big buyrate.

With the continued talk of Silva moving upto 205, Sonnen would be one of the guys in with a good chance of getting the belt should Silva drop the title to move up.

Well lets look at the facts. Before Gomi fought Diaz in 07 he was regarded as #3 fighter in the world.
Since that loss (later changed to a no contest) his never looked like a top 3 fighter. His wins have not been ordinary and his losses have been shockers. Pardon me for not getting excited over a fighter who could always punch winning by KO over a fighter he was way bigger than. Yes it's a win over legit opposition but it takes a lot more than that for him to be considered 'back'.

The ending to Silva/Sonnen was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.

That was a great card.

Incredible fight! I almost forgot this PPV was on as well.

Just...wow, I hope to god for a rematch!

It's amazing how 4 rounds can just count for absolutely nothing with a split second decision.

It's hilarious to read all the posts saying "Sliva will destroy Sonnen" after that humiliation.
