I think they'll do a rematch.
Somewhat of a pyrrhic victory for Junior Dos Santos as well; if he can't KO Roy Nelson I don't fancy his chances against Lesnar. |

Just...wow, I hope to god for a rematch! Silva should turn down a rematch after all the trash talking Sonnen did. Quote:
It's hilarious to read all the posts saying "Sliva will destroy Sonnen" after that humiliation.

I hope not. It was clear Sonnen was going for a points win. He didn't try many submissions and his ground-and-pound had little effect (in fact, Sonnen seemed to come off worse from Silva's elbows). I'd say his ground-and-pound was intended more to stop the ref from standing them up than inflicting damage. And once you realised what his game plan was, it was quite a dull fight (until the end that is).
Silva should turn down a rematch after all the trash talking Sonnen did. When you consider how effective Silva's take-down defence and striking have been in the past, I don't think there were many signs this fight would be different. I guess we all underestimated how good Sonnen's wrestling is. Silva needs to work on his wrestling. Sonnen needs to work on ending a fight rather than going for a dull points win. |

That was some ending to the Anderson Silva match!
How can one man take soooo much punishment, and find enough reserve energy to put on the submission hold, and crank it up, so that his opponent taps out? Much credit to Sonnen though, he said he would bring it, and boy did he ever bring it, much like Lesner in way, this might just humble him, and not be all mouth, he might try to be more circumspect, but hey, I guess slagging off people sells ppv's and tickets. |

Dana White confirmed Sonnen/Silva 2 will happen, on 31st December if Silva's ribs have healed in time.

UFC 118 at the weekend looks a good card, Edgar v Penn rematch, Couture v Toney will be fun to watch, Florian v Maynard should be a good fight, N Diaz v Davis will be interesting as is most of Nates fights, Maia v Miranda, Lauzon v Ruediger, Miller v Salter, Pierce v Alves plus Brits Andre Winner and Nick Ospiczak on the card. |

Vitor Belfort vs. Yushin Okami will apparently headline UFC 122 in Germany.
It's not a PPV here so that's a big fight on cable television and far better than the 120 headliner (also on Spike TV). |

Sounds like a good fight, got a feeling Okami will get a decision, I'm a bit surprised they're still going to Germany with the TV troubles they're having out there. As for tonight i've got;
Penn TKO Couture TKO Maynard Dec Maia Sub Diaz Sub Decent card tonight, still quite pissed about the Toney fight, he's an overweight joke, hasnt been relevant in boxing for 10 years yet this is sold as boxing vs mma, under mma rules. |

Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio yesterday said there is a big announcement concerning UFC and the UK due shortly.
I wonder what it is. |

Well, 116 and 117 were both great. 118... oh dear.
Embarrassing for UFC to be putting James Toney in a semi main event given he was way out of shape, seriously he looked like Roy Nelson, and has no takedown defense or ground game. |

I wonder what it is. I hope it's that WEC is going on ESPN UK, but I doubt it. Hey maybe they've signed Alex Reid! Joking.

Actually was an OK card. Virtually the matches except randy/tony going the distance.
Don't know what is up with BJ Penn, it really didn't look as though he wanted to be there. Randy match went pretty much as expected, one of the worse take down attempts by randy followed by couple of minutes of embarrasing g & p. Maynard is going to be difficult to stop though didn't look like he was going to finsh at any point. We now have maynard vs edgar II, with maynard already holding one win over the champ. Maia look good, his take downs were a lot better then have seen for a while. Davis vs Diaz was a slug feast for those of you like those types of matches. Over all was never going to match up with 116 or 117 but an OK card. Now two so and so cards in 119 and 120 before the return of the big guy at 121. |

The Toney v Coture fight was pathetic. Predictable but still a joke!!
James Toney did well to steal a payday. He got paid for going into the octagon and performing no better than a random guy from the crowd could. |

i feel a bit for andre winner as he tried to fight but got hugged to death lol on the main card some decent fights but the main events werent exactly epic lol randy made toney his bitch and then penn just look disinterested as edgar control the match. the only issue i can see for penn is maybe he is having issues cutting weight and might be better off at 170. 1) boxing is the sport with the chip on its shoulder saying how bad mma is, while mma fighters rarely have a go at boxing. 2) in mma you can box if you like granted it wont get you very far but in boxing all you can do is throw a punch. now i am not saying mma is perfect as there are guys like koscheck that are quite happy to win fights with dull tactics. but as a watcher of both sports mma fights tend to have more bang for your buck. |

Also I am not having a go at MMA as I love both sports but dont act like it is only boxing who has haters. There are plenty of MMA fans who chat pure crap about boxing having no idea what they are talking about. I was responding to the post as the the themaninblack made a comment about how randy showed toney what real fighting is about. Randy did what was expected, I am just saying that if the fight was in a boxing ring, Randy would get Knocked the Fcuk out!! |

Anderson Silva has talked about going over to boxing, probably one of the best strikers in MMA but I am pretty sure he would not be challenging for any belts in boxing. |

Totally agree with this. Both being combat sports is where the similarity ends. Two completely different sets of rules, two different techniques and tatics.
Anderson Silva has talked about going over to boxing, probably one of the best strikers in MMA but I am pretty sure he would not be challenging for any belts in boxing. Two total different sports. No different to K-1 Kickboxers who have fought in MMA. I give credit to Toney in managing to talk his way into earning $750,000 for a fight he knew he had no chance of winning. No boxing promoter would ever pay him that now as his a finished fighter. Plenty UFC fighters would love to earn that kind of money. Quote:

Yeah cos Dana White has never talked down boxing has he.

Exactly. He said he wanted to fight Roy Jones. Even now a complete shot Roy Jones would beat Anderson with ease in a boxing ring.
