What a rubbish PPV. How the hell Sean Sherk won I don't know. Dana won't do anything about the judges though. Shocking decision!

The main event was pathetic, The win does nothing for Mir and Cro Cop needs to retire. He has been finished for 2 years now!!

Well after seeing the card for 119 I was worried that it was going to be a shocker and wasnt it just. Mir and Cro Cop was so bad it was embarrasing

Because judging is solely in the hands of the athletic commissions for each state, not any MMA organization on the Earth.

Well it sets up Mir v Lesnar 3 if Lesnar loses, though if Lesnar wins I don't know what they'll do with Mir.

I guess Mir/Cro Cop does show they shouldn't put guys who like or respect each other in a main event, because that's a recipe for a rubbish match.

i agree, it was a night for koscheck fans (bar the sherk fight)

Yeah if they had any control at all Steve Mazzagatti would not be refereeing UFC.

this shows that UFC being on Sky is the best thing they have ever done in the UK. Sky is the only platform that would do this kinda stuff. Sky will push the UFC brand and now expect to see fighters on SSN and programmes like Soccer AM

Wonder if Sky will pick up Strikeforce once they shut down Bravo.

UFC 122 fight lineup main card:

Nate Marquardt vs. Yushin Okami
Jorge Rivera vs. Alessio Sakara
Dennis Siver vs. Andre Winner
Amir Sadollah vs. Peter Sobotta
Krzyzstof Soszynski vs. Goran Reljic

This is a shocking main card even though it's on Spike TV here.

Strikeforce and UFC are apparently doing head to head live shows on December 4th, Strikeforce with Matt Lindland vs. Robbie Lawler and Dan Henderson vs. Renato "Babalu" Sobral and UFC doing the TUF 12 final and Demian Maia vs. Kendall Grove.

Interesting to see what'll happen.

Spike and the UFC announced Stephan Bonnar vs. Igor Pokrajac as the main event of TUF 12, with Maia/Grove co-main. So stupid.

Rich Franklin is fighting Forrest Griffin at UFC 127 in February.

Both are probably very happy they've avoided Bones Jones I'd guess.

Any of you going to UFC 120 this weekend?

Really excited for Condit/Hardy, as I think Condit will take that.

I am looking foward to UFC 120, as dispite some of the negative press, I always enjoy seeing the Brits compete.

Also, if and this is a really big IF, Brock soundly defeats Cain at the next UFC PPV, who would his next opponent be? Junior Dos Santos, Barnett, Barry, or "Big Nog"? As I cannot see either Fedor or Werdum fighting him, perhaps the Strikeforce Champ Overeem? Or maybe not. This does seem to be a big match for the UFC as if Cain wins, there is always the possability of a re-match down the line, but if Brock retains (I guess there is always a re-match option again), then, there doesn't seem to be that many people, that compete in the UFC, that could realistically pose a threat for Brock.

He has proven himself against Mir after the loss, and Carwin as well, so it will be interesting to see who his next opponent will be, if he can somehow get by Cain.

Ah right, many thanks for that.

I think that a Cain v JDS fight would be pretty good indeed, although I do hope Brock wins, as to come back from what he had is very hard indeed.

Is anyone else watching the ppv?

The Kongo match, what was up with that? That was a really slow paced, and not very much action at all. A deserved draw, even with the point deduction, as neither person deserved to be classed as a winner.

Brit fans haven't had much to cheer about in the O2 tonight the Brit fighters have all been mullered!

Barnett is with strikeforce now so like Overeem there is no chance at all that Brock will fight any of these fighters!!

Ooops my mistake sorry.

I hope that Brock v Cain will be a good match, as the hype has been massive.

Speaking of the build up to that fight, I have been watching the promo films, of how the fighters are preparing for the fight, and informing the viewer as the the fighters background etc, one thing that kind of got on my whick, was the fact that the shows, just totally glossed over the fact that Brock was in the WWE, no even hardcore UFC fans, would admit that Brock was in the WWE, so why not just admit that in the promo films?

I know that Dana and Vince are not exactly best buddies, and Dana doesn't want to give Vince any credit whatsoever, but in this case, not even saying that Brock was in the WWE, just comes over as silly.

Sorry, I just had to get that rant off of my chest, ah I feel better now!

is bit strange they go back to the college days and skip past his pro-wrestling stuff. It probably got nothing to do with vince but just the fact it is pro-wrestling.

Pro-Wrestling got such a bad repuatation in the US I can see why Dana does it but I still think it is silly as the people who watch it are not suddenly gonna turn off because of the pro-wrestling history.

It is the same when UFC brought Mark Coleman back. The commentators made no mention about what he has been doing since pride died. It is like he vanished off the earth when all they had to say was "Mark Coleman has been pro-wrestling in Japan before coming back to UFC"

I look at stuff like this and see such a huge difference to how things are done in Japan. Ex pro-wrestlers are still seen as pro-wrestlers and there history is promoted as a good thing. There have been some matches where Dream has used the fighters pro wrestling fueds to build up the MMA match.

The Condit fight was violent. I knew he'd win but that was a stunning KO.

Thanks for such a sensible and reasoned answer to my rant/post, I do like the Japanese way, of not hiding a persons past, rather than hiding it away, as if it never existed in the first place.
I wasn't expecting a highlight real of Brock's best WWE matches, as all footage is obviously copy of Vince, but just an admission, that, he had been a pro-wrestler would have been satisfactory.

Ah well, I will still watch the fight, I just wanted to get that off of my chest, many thanks for not picking it apart, and agreeing with it.

UFC don't want any connection with pro wrestling, if it was found UFC was fixed the Fertitta brothers (who own UFC parent company Zuffa and a chain of casinos, Station) would likely lose their license to operate casinos in Nevada, which is worth billions of dollars. As such UFC wants a LOT of clear water between itself and pro wrestling. They don't like putting footage of Paul Heyman talking to Lesnar on their shows (Heyman still works with Lesnar on his promos) and they certainly wouldn't play up pro wrestling achievements of their fighters. They want to be seen as a legit sport.
