I'll tell Virgin that if they don't refund me, I'll put Mirko Cro Cop on them...

Or his ankle, from what I've read of the results.

I reckon he's still done some really bad damage to it though, it was one nasty fall and his ankle was facing the opposite direction to his leg!

Frank Mir broke Tim Silvia's arm back at UFC: 48 and Silvia still wanted to carry on , I suspect once CroCop got backstage he really started to feel the pain .

Hope he heals up soon though, that kick from Gonzaga came out of nowhere!

I managed to crash at a friends house and watch it as they have sky!

Yeah Cro cops fall looked nasty - that kick really did appear out of nowhere.

Thought that arlovski's (can't spell it!) fight was boring, he was just playing it safe in the second and third rounds.

My heart was in my mouth when Bisping went down too but I am glad he managed to turn it around!

Just got back from Manchester after a 400 mile trip home and got to say it was worth every minute of travelling time. I got to go to the event free as it was my birthday and the girlfriend was paying.

Brilliant night, although I have to admit that a few fights were awful and some results were not as expected the event itself lived up to my expectations.

A few famous faces mingling in the crowd, all willing to talk. Matt Serra being one of the nicest people you could wich to meet. I know that I was slagging him off on the very thread last week when I said I couldnt beleive that he beat GSP etc but as a person the guy has time for everyone and really didnt have any sort of chip on his shoulder as I thought he would have.

The weigh in the day before was also a brilliant event, nice to hear a little interaction between the fighters and the crowd, especially with Bisping. The only let down was that the fighters were ushered away as soon as the weigh ins were over and done with, there was no hanging around or meeting the fans.

I would like to write a whole lot more about the road trip but a little too tired tonight, only supposed to be checking my mail so I will continue at another time.

Sod's law, I always expect something like this to happen when someone is built up to such a degree.

Can't wait for Chuck and Rampage, one month to go.

Ryan, welcome to the fantastic world of MMA.

You should rent or buy some DVDs, starting with UFC 40 onwards.

Check out the Ultimate Fighter as well. 15 guys competing to win a UFC contract. I know it's reality tv, but where else does the "eviction" happen as a result of a genuine fight?

also work a look at wiki (which has quite a good bit on the background of the sport, and is reasonably accurate)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ufc

Next big event is UFC 71 on 26th May, Bravo usually telivise them on the sunday night afterwards (27th)

Awesome I will def look into it. I usually hate all that reality tv crap but I'll give ultimate fighter a look at. Was getting a little bored with WWE. Does UFC do a weekly show like WWE? If so when is it on? Last night it said classic clips in the guide information

The Ultimate fighter is the closest thing to a weekly show. The fighters are split into two teams, each week the team that's currently winning gets to pick the the fight, nominating one of theirs to fight one of the other team. There's about half an hour on their training, squabbling in the house etc, then you get the fight.

They have PPV's on a more or less monthly basis (the numbered shows such as UFC71), and the occasional smaller event slotted in as well (Fight Nights) with up and coming fighters. Bravo tends to be very slow at broadcasting the fight nights, but on the ball with the rest.

PPV's (apart from those in the UK) are free to view on Bravo. They are really pushing the UK audience this year. UFC70 was in Manchester, they will be in Belfast in June for UFC72 and back to England later in the year (Albert Hall I think)

The unleased shows (which are on most evenings) are edited highlights of old fights, a good way to get up to speed with who's who, and to see how the sport has progressed over the years. Sometimes however the fights are not up to much - it's a bit of a mixed bag.

There's also a set of Ultimate Knockouts 1 & 2, and Ultimate Submissions programs that Bravo airs on a regular basis. These are good to record to show to your mates when they moan about the fact that it's just two guys rolling around on the ground. Ultimate knockouts is on Sunday night at 21:00. If you've not seen it before I envy you, I really do.

They mentioned during the Arlovski fight at UFC70 that London was a location within the next 12 months. Anyone know the date and venue?

Only three events on the schedule at the moment:

UFC 71: Liddell v Jackson @ Vegas 27/5
UFC 72: Victory @ Belfast 16/6
UFC 73: Stacked @ Sacramento 8/7

So maybe August?

I think it was mentioned as the Albert Hall, but could be wrong

I doubt they would host from the Albert hall again. Somewhere like Earl's Court would be cool. I'm willing to pay top prices for ringside seats

Hi guy's quick question what has happened to B J Penn's guys in TUF5 they have finally got it back
Spoiler
but is it he isn't a great coach or is it the way he picked them in the first place?

having said that I think the guy's he has in the next round all look good ones and could make it to the semi's although we didn't really see that much from the guy in the first fight tonight.

Thanks. Just have to wait until closer the time before I can order it as it isn't listed on the Setants website as something that can be ordered yet.
