And so ends the Evan Dunham hype after Melvin Guillard stomped him in the first round.

Mark Hominick also destroyed George Roop and will get to fight Jose Aldo at UFC 129 in Toronto.

Look at the Toronto card for PPV:

GSP vs. Jake Shields (WW Title)
Aldo vs. Hominick (FW Title)
Couture vs. Machida
Matt Hamill vs. Phil Davis
Ben Henderson vs. Mark Bocek

STACKED!

WHOAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

Anderson Silva knocked out Vitor Belfort with a front kick! The man is amazing!

Also Jon Jones beat Ryan Bader and will fight Shogun for the title with Rashad pulling out to injury.

They also said at the press conference that if GSP beats Shields then Anderson Silva gets GSP next.

Can anyone really stop Anderson?? Him competing in the Middleweight division is pointless now, as he is soooo far ahead of the competition, he really does need to move into a different weight category for a challenge.

Well word is Georges St-Pierre wants to move to middleweight as he feels there is more cash to be had there than by doing rematches at 170.

That would be a very tasty match-up, but I am unsure if taking on someone who knows and is soooooo dominant at that weight limit is a good idea.
As we have seen Anderson is just unstopable (not even somone allegedly using drugs could stop him) at this weight, if GSP could give him at match, then that would be marvellous, as it is a tad predictable now, that Anderson will win when he is fighting at his weight division.

Don't write GSP off so quickly. Anderson has suspect cardio and has issues dealing with strong wrestlers who can push the pace. Guess who that describes ?

Anderson survived Sonnen, and that went right to the wire, so how can you say he has suspect cardio? Sonnen was a strong guy, and he beat him, so saying he is weak against strong guys is a bit much as well.

it would be an interesting bout and hopefully it will happen later this year, i wouldnt dare predict a winner has they are good very strong fighters.

gsp has to beat shields first and i am guessing it will. so that could leave the welterweight title vacant.

once you take gsp out of that division it becomes very even and some sort of tournament for the title would be a great watch although i doubt the chances of ever having that sort of competition in one night, over a few ppvs or even a special show would be great viewing considering some of the personalties at play.

A tournement would be taking the UFC back to it's starting point, I don't think they would do that, as I just get the feeling that they are not that fond of those tournements that Gracie won etc.

So, they would have to find some other way to find a title match.

its a shame cos those were classics but they could base it more on the ultimate fighter format, hardy and koscheck sharing a house would make for some interesting tv.

hell the way dana changes his mind on things maybe daley (i have no idea what sort of deal he has with strikeforce) could make a surprise appearance but i highly doubt he will ever get a second chance in any shape or form.

They can't run a one night tournement, it won't get licensed in the US, There is some stuff about how many round a fighter is allowed to fight in one evening. Plus there is too much randomness is the draw, you end up with one guy having an easy path and one with a hard path .

And what happens if somebody gets injuried. You have a fresh guy in the cage. If you remember way back in the early days (maybe ufc 4), there was an injury and that ninjitsu cop came in as a subsitute and ended up winning the whole thing. Not saying he was not a legit fighter but if I remember when it came to defending the title he got beat in the first round.

Strikeforce did a one night womens tournament a few months back but the rounds were made shorter. You can't fight more than 25 minutes in a night.

I am looking forward to the first round of the Strikeforce tournament tomorrow night. My only problem with it is the fact that they aren't doing all the first round fights in one night. It's 2 months until the Barnett vs Rodgers and Overeem vs Werdum fights.

I also don't see the point of Valentijn Overeem being in there as an alternate. Surely he can't fight his brother?

In this interview he said he'd consider fighting his brother. They probably fought as little kids so might as well get paid to do it now

It'd be dodgy though. Valentijn would probably lie down to give his brother an easy win.

I don't think he'll be used in the tournament unless Alistair gets eliminated.

How the mighty fall, soon as Chuck got knocked out by Rampage that was the end of him, now Fedor looks like his heart isn't in it anymore, add Arloski to the list and they're dropping like flies.

Makes you appreciate how good Anderson Silva is, went off him for a while because of his pissing about but he really is lethal.

it should be a good match and fitch could pull off an upset.

also nice of bamma to be the warm up act as sci-fi will have the daley fight live. so it should be a decent night of action as that aussie card looks mint.

Not sure Fitch winning is an upset. Most experts and bookies have Fitch as the favourite.Fitch by UD is the favoured result. If Penn stops Fitch then that will be a upset.I don't think Fitch has been stopped since 2002.His last 8 fights have all been decisions (7 wins , 1 loss to GSP).

Looking forward to a good night of MMA though with BAMMA and UFC.

I suppose i still think of BJ as a great fighter despite those title fights.
