Wednesday night fight on FUEL TV, Jake Ellenberger survived a 3rd round onslaught and beat Diego Sanchez by unanimous decision in an epic fight. Ellenberger beat the tar out of Diego for two rounds and got a knockdown in the 1st. But he tired in the 3rd and Diego took his back and landed lots of punches but still lost the fight clearly.
Oh, and Stipe Miocic KOed Britain's Phillip De Fries with a vicious set of punches inside a minute. English fighters are 0-3 this year. |

I certainly think UFC would prefer to be on Sky Sports just because it's higher profile, but they couldn't reach a deal when Setanta collapsed, so it is questionable if they can do one now.

if i were them i would package a deal so the programming gets spread about a bit across skys channels, so the fuel tv fights and prelims get aired on one of there freeview channels along with shows like UFC unleashed. |

I doubt UFC could go on pay per view here; the timeslot kills them, it's certainly hugely questionable who'd pay for PPV's on at 3-6am when most of the fanbase presumably knows how to acquire them for free the next day. Hell the one in Japan this weekend is a four hour show, UK timeslot 3-7am. Not exactly peak viewing time.
Dan Hardy is fighting Duane "Bang" Ludwig on 26th May in Las Vegas, presumably this is do or die for Hardy's MMA career. |

I guess you mean His UFC Career... if he loses I would imagine he will show up on a strikeforce event

I saw that MMA UK was back for the first time in months, which was good to see, not too sure when it will be back again, I do hope that the UFC programming will continue to be shown in the country, as it is a sport that I enjoy watching.
Also one question, is it wrong of me to want to claim that Overeem is the first English UFC Heavyweight Champion? ![]() ![]() I know he classes himself as Dutch, but to me he is English!

I will not be. Brilliant card tonight, should be a great show. Two very interesting main events (well main and co main). Fancy Rampage to beat Bader, likely via decision. Got the same for Frankie too, though that one really could swing either way, looking forward to see how Henderson performs. |

Both fights pretty much ended how I expected, though with me predicting the wrong person to win it.
Not a great deal to say about Rampage/Bader, the Rampage slam being the highlight. Henderson was fantastic though. Had him winning Rounds 2, 3, 4 and 5 and possibly Round 1 just swinging to Frankie. The up kick was a massive moment in the fight too. Henderson just outfought Frankie and got a much deserved decision. Likely Henderson/Pettis for the title next

I thought the fights were pretty one sided affairs with Henderson totally outclassing Frankie in pretty much every department
Frankie has a huge heart but he was never going to beat the much bigger and stronger Henderson the Rampage fight bar the head slam was pretty much a 'borefest' - it is time Rampage retired he is far too one dimensional to beat these younger more skilled fighters style's make fights and the results of the two above fights I cannot see a different result if they fought many times |

Great card and enjoyed it.
Rampage I have to admit, I really like him and he looks like a beast but I can't help but always feel he doesn't give his all. Since he came to the UFC and beat Liddell I've always really wanted to enjoy his fights but haven't. I remember being bored when he went 5 rounds with Dan Henderson years ago and every fight since he just seems to have gone further and further downhill. It's such a shame that he's likely finished as he's a great character but he clearly can't cut it with the guys of today. Jon Jones proved he was miles ahead of him, Evans beat him (although Evans bores me to tears with his fights too and him vs Davis put me to sleep) and now Bader had his number too. Ben Henderson schooled Edgar the whole fight. I would have gone crazy had the judges given it to Edgar, really well deserved win for Henderson and I'm much more excited to see his fights in future. Edgar does have heart but I don't enjoy his stick and move weak punch style that much either. His 2 Penn fights were basically jump in throw a couple of light punches then jump out and circle around for 5 rounds. It gets the job done but isn't exciting to see. Tim Boetsch made the most impressive comeback I've seen since Cheick Kongo vs Pat Barry, big big win for him. Wasn't a fan of Mark Hunt but he scored a good win over Kongo himself. Could he have looked any less interested at the end?!! Good show and now I'm going to watch the prelims somewhere to see how they were. |

its a bit of a gutter that no one seems to have picked up strikeforce as they seem to have a good card.

Tate of course caused the upset against Coenen, can she do it again? I'll be happy with either lady winning, but truth be told I'll be expecting to see Ronda tear through Tate here. Also do not forget tomorrow night UFC ON FX Alves vs Kampmann, on ESPN from 3 am for anybody interested. |

I tried to get into Strikeforce when UFC decided they'd keep running it but the Rockhold vs Jardine card just bored me. I still get the feeling when watching that it's just a poor feeder league and I can't shake that off. Now if they picked up a TV deal in the UK and they put a few more former or current UFC guys who aren't at the tops of the card in there (there must be plenty surely) then I'd give it a proper go.
I'm not a fan of womens MMA so that doesn't appeal to me either being honest. Was thinking of giving Bellator a go though and have been online looking at the last 2 shows. I wish they could get a deal on UK TV aswell. |

On the UFC website, they're advertising Rousey VS Tate, are Strikeforce famale fighters competing in the UFC or are the UFC just promoting them?

England's Oli Thompson violently knocked out against Shawn Jordan on the non-broadcast portion of UFC on FX 2.
British fighters are now 1-4 in the UFC this year. |

a decent card overall, the flyweight fights were fought at an excellent pace and the main event had a top ending.
are we in limbo with TUF? or does FX decide to keep it? |
