Just watched the season opener.
I thought Glover won the fight, was easily the aggressor and seemed to land more effective strikes. Found the Dana White and corner man argument about clocks amusing. |

Ridiculous finish to friday's Bellator main event, Joe Warren vs Pat Curran. Ref stops it about 30 punches too late.

Skimmed through last weeks Ultimate Fighter because I started watching and just found the format very dull and boring.
I haven't enjoyed the fighters trying to win to get into the house ones as much before apart from last season because there were some amazing fights on that and the setting looked good. On this one with the whole live format thing it just came off as so dull, there were long pauses between decisions and whatnot, it felt like there was next to no reaction when people won because of where it was. I just got bored and I've never felt like that with the Ultimate Fighter before. Have recorded the next episode so I'm really hoping it's a lot better now they're in the house otherwise I might as well stop watching. |

UFC offically announced UFC 147, Chael Sonnen vs Anderson Silva, at Joao Havelange Stadium in Rio de Janiero, Brazil on 23rd June with Vitor Belfort vs. Wanderlei Silva as the semi main. Dana said this would be the biggest sports event of the year. Hmm.

They've confirmed Frank Mir vs. Cain Velasquez for May 26th.
Im no massive fan i watch it here and there , is Mir really a massive underdog ? he seems to upset the odds quite often from what ive seen , i know he has a weak chin but on the ground hes a favorite if he gets it down there isn't he ? |

Alistair Overeem, Cain Velasquez, Junior Dos Santos, Roy Nelson, Frank Mir and Antonio Silva all got surprise drug tested today when they turned up to a press conference.
Hope that works out okay! |

In the Warren VS Curran fight, doesn't the ref realise that standing up isn't a defense. Refs are there to stop that kind of knock out to prevent injury. Warren looked comatosed. Valasquez vs Mir, I think Velasquez will win, but Mir will be a tough fight.

“I am beyond pissed about this,” said Dana White a few hours later. “I’m so ****ing mad right now I can’t even begin. The worst part is that he sat in front of us and lied to us. How ****ing stupid do you have to be? Seriously, dumb. Anybody who’s using (performance enhancing drugs) right now is an absolute ****ing moron. It’s beyond, what’s the word I’m looking for, it’s beyond belief. It’s beyond comprehension. You’re an absolute moron, a brain-dead absolute ****ing dummy. It goes beyond a guy having any common sense whatsoever. I don’t have a plan B. It doesn’t look good, does it? It doesn’t look good.”

![]() But I was left a bit short I feel, it wasn't the best title match in the world. And all this hype around Jones is a bit much really, the talk by the two comms at ringside about him being the best in the whole of the UFC was a joke really, how can he be compared to a guy like the "Spider" who has gone what is it 5 years undefeated??? Jones has only had one or two defences of his title, lets wait and see if he can do say five first before we go all hype crazy. |

He's had three defences, despite only winning the title a little over a year ago. He's also beaten 5 of the top 10 LHW in the world in the time period. Yes, the win over Evans wasn't as spectacular are some of the others, but Evans is supposed to be No2 in the world and sometimes features in the top 10 p4p rankings.
That is a little special. Spider has proved it now over a number of years, and the nearest anyone got to beating him, was someone high on drugs! That goes to show how good he is. Lets just ease off of the hype around Jones, lets see if he can get to half of what Anderson has achieved, then he will be a success. |

Really wanted Evans to win, but congrats to Jones. Miller VS Diaz in May.

You better believe the hype surrounding Jones I dont see any one in the near future being able to beat him, he has hammered everyone put in front him and that blot on his record against Matt Hamill was the biggest beatdown in MMA History till he got disq in a fight where I feared for the safety of Hamill as he took such a beating
Rashad Evans was never going to beat him (bar a shock knockout) which was highly unlikely my prediction which I will back with a bet at the betting shop - Anderson Silva will lose to Sonnen Silva was totally dominated in there last encounter until 20 seconds from the end when he got caught by Silva I dont see Sonnen letting that happen again |
