Miguel Torres career looks over at what happened to the once great fighter... I was gutted to see him lose in such a fashion
very hard to see where he goes from here

Anderson losing to sonnen....Sonnen can trash talk until Overeem is clean, he can't beat Silva unless he's pumped full of testosterone.

Care to make a bet
Silva wins - I leave the forum forever
Sonnen wins - You leave the forum forever

ummmm...yeah, that would work...Silva wins [which he will] I never get to hear Chael and his awful stand up. Sonnen wins and Silva gets humilated by his first ever UFC loss. But the bet can start now though.

Just out of interest what makes you so sure Silva would beat Sonnen
last time they fought Silva was completely owned till the dying seconds of the fight and I honestly believe the fight will be pretty much the same pattern as the first one (bar the outcome)

out of the Octagon Sonnen has become a proper tool with his out bursts but the fact remains he totally owned him last time

Do you not think a fighter with Anderson's years of top level experience would watch back the first fight, and not look at try and do something different?
He is sooo much more than a one-dimensional fighter, to be undefeated for soo long proves that.

Silva's consistent and Sonnen only gained the uper hand by cheating. I wouldn't mind Sonnen's trash talk if he could actually beat a worthy opponent.

Chael Sonnen has 8 submission losses.

That's why Silva will beat him. Probably the same way, too. He's in his 30s and he won't magically acquire sub defense skills.

That was a fight where Sonnen had been using illegal drugs and Silva also had injuries to his ribs, which stopped him competing anywhere near the level he usually can.

Sonnen looked horrendous against Bisping, verging on embarrassing for a so called top Middleweight contender and was actually lucky to even walk out of that one with the win. If he comes into this fight anything like that, he'll get destroyed. Silva is pretty much the top fighter in MMA (and you could only debate GSP and POSSIBLY Jones are on that level or even Aldo as an outside shot).

The only hope Sonnen has is holding Silva down for five entire rounds or landing one of the biggest miracle knockout's in UFC history. If Silva even get's the slightest of sniffs on the feet, it'll be lights out for Sonnen.

UFC 145 was such a letdown after the stacked cards we'd seen up until then. Only Jones vs Evans was remotely interesting on paper and predictably Evans stunk it up yet again.

I couldn't believe how poor the card was. Nothing against Che Mills but how does a guy that's had 1 fight in the UFC become co-main event on his 2nd appearance? Rory McDonald has been impressive too but not co-main event status. Mills vs McDonald had no name value whatsoever. The rest of the card was filled with low level fighters that had no interest to me.

As for Evans, damn I hope this guy vanishes from events for a while. I used to hate him when he was showboating on the Ultimate Fighter and thought he was dull in his fights too, then he changed my mind a bit when he knocked Salmon out with the sick kick and knocked out Liddell amongst others. The problem was, he very quickly went back to his dull trying not to lose tactics afterwards. Rampage vs Evans looked amazing on paper and the way they were on TUF made it seem a must-see fight. What a washout that was. Evans stunk the place out again and Rampage has become a shadow of his former self too. Evans also bored me to tears against Phil Davis, so it was no surprise that he bored me to tears yet again against Jones.

UFC has put on some amazing events recently but this one was terrible. Awful card and unfortunately for them, a lot of the fights were decisions aswell so it's not like anyone did anything impressive despite there being no name value.

UFC 146 has shot down aswell for me. I know it's not their fault that Overeem is such an idiot so he's now out of what would have been a HUGE fight. But his fault or not, that show has now nosedived aswell. Mir has been on form fair enough, but I've not much interest in seeing him fighting for the title yet again at all. The Heavyweight division is easily the poorest division in the UFC and they need to bring on some more guys pretty fast before we start seeing the same faces constantly rotating.

if thats the case what was Silva's excuse for the most embarrasing display ever seen in the Octagon when he fought Damien Maia dont get me wrong Silva is a great fighter but styles make fights and he looked dreadful against Sonnen for 24 minutes

Looking forward to having a large bet on this fight

GSP would not last a round against Silva just the same as Aldo would not last a round against GSP fighters in all fight sports never do well against heavier opponents the odd one or two has come out on top but 99% of the time the lighter guy loses

I remember Bob Foster who was a great Light heavywirght boxing champ fight twice at heavy and got completely destroyed on both occasions
in fact the List of great fighters moving up and failing is huge
for that very reason Jon Jones would not live with the top heavywieghts
and for my money He is pound for pound only behind Aldo

Silva never looked in danger against Maia, he almost looked bored. It was an awful fight, but yet again Silva pretty much saying "Try stop me", which Maia clearly couldn't do. Silva didn't look dreadful against Sonnen. Sonnen came in on illegal drugs and Silva came in with an injury, plain and simple. Name me another time Silva has performed like that ever before in the UFC? (And I'm not talking about dancing around with Maia, I'm talking having the fight taken to him and losing a fight). You cant, because it hasn't happened. So Sonnen comes in after taking illegal substances, comes in with Silva having a key injury and comes in to hold Silva down on the ground for five rounds, yet STILL cant stop Silva? I think that says it all really. That's what can separate greats and legends. When you can be out pointed for four and a half rounds only to pull off something spectacular in the final minutes, that's special.

Also, when I compared the other fighters (GSP, Aldo) I was talking P4P, not them competing against each other. Though while saying that, claiming GSP wouldn't last a round with Silva is beyond madness. GSP once again showed his brilliant technical striking not long ago (and no, it's not as good as Silva's, then again hardly anybodies in the UFC is) and his wrestling and take down offense is top notch. GSP is a smart fighter, he wouldn't come in and play to the strengths of Silva. For me Silva is the top fighter in MMA, but to try to say GSP wouldn't last a round with him is crazy. I cant say it would last more than a round, because nobody knows, either could come out and finish the fight in a matter of seconds, but GSP is certainly capable of lasting a round with Silva.

Have a big bet on the fight, best of luck to you. Sonnen could win, because this is MMA, anything is possible. If Sonnen even attempts to stand with Silva for long though, I'll be surprised if he doesn't get some sense knocked into himself. Sonnen will try to employ the obvious gameplan of keeping Silva down for as many rounds as possible, let's hope that game plan fails.

Dont get me wrong GSP is a great fighter but for me the old saying
'a good big un will always beat a good little un'
I actually flew to vegas to watch GSP fight a few years ago but I dont believe he is the same fighter these days since Matt Serra knocked him out he has kept on winning but is much more cautious
and thats why I dont think he would last a round with Silva

I believe he would be overwhelmed much the same way Rich Franklin was who himself is a very big guy at Middleweight

GSP is obviously capable of going the distance with Silva but I just see him being overwhelmed and I dont think the fight will ever happen anyway
Silva v Jones is far more likely to happen

and my prediction for Silva Sonnen will wins on points after laying on Silva for the whole 5 rounds

Agree about GSP, but Sonnen's wrestling can't really compete with Silva's grappling. Sonnen's a person that said that Brazilian jiu jitsu was too "gay" for him to practise. unless he gets grappling defense Silva's going to be a challenge for Sonnen.

Coenen was calling her out after Invicta FC 1 at the weekend.

Hard to judge if she had broken her finger but based on her performance but I couldn't see her worry Ronda. It was a very disappointing main event compared to the rest of the card.

Love the Diaz brothers, always great fights. Been watching Pride Ultimate knockouts, the UFC seems tame and neutered by comparison.

UFC announced an UK. vs. Australia version of Ultimate Fighter, with tryouts for Team Australia on June 12th in Sydney, and for Team UK on June 15th in London, looking at doing a bantamweight (135 pound) and welterweight (170) weight class.

UFC apparently want this to be on free to air tv here, so presumably they'll try to get five to buy it.

Id agree, but not worry about the UK v Oz version. They were talking tape delay rather than live back in Jan, and that was before everyone started telling them the live show sucked.

Campaigning for Dan Hardy to be the UK coach. It would be really boring if Bisping did it for the third time. Dana needs to pick someone else British and talented.

I think Dan hardy would be great TV
sadly though his recent bad losses leave him on the verge of being cut altogether so I dont see him getting the job as coach

maybe ross pearson would get the nod since he is getting experience at the moment or brad pickett seems interesting.

but i would prefer hardy and it might depend on the weight class of the australian they want.

Pearson was nicked for drunk driving last week so presumably is in the doghouse.

Hardy is fighting Duane Ludwig on May 26th and will presumably be cut if he loses, though hopefully that doesn't happen.

I think for better or worse it's gonna be Bisping. He's got the reality tv panto baddie act perfected.
