Except Dan Hardy isn't talented. Chris Lytle was unranked when he fought Hardy and beat him striking and grappling. He put up HISTORICALLY low offensive output against GSP, worse than any other challenger. Anthony Johnson knocked him down and outwrestled him. Carlos Condit KO'd him brutally.

Hardy is a limited fighter but has a great personality and seems like a nice guy. He has no business being in the UFC when so many other fighters get cut after 2 or 3 losses in a row.

Dan is talented he has the potential to be great, he just needs to be more well-rounded, [which he can get from training.] There must be a reason why they haven't cut him yet. Hardy could be great television. Rather see any British fighter but Bisping, after "Spit-gate" he got rewarded with the ultimate fighter and TUF has been Bisping overkill. So any British fighter but Bisping for "The smashes"

Dan Hardy isn't talented
try tell that to Mike Swick who was the No.1 contender when Hardy beat him... Marcus Davis is a good well rounded fighter
Akihiro Gono is a Legend in Japanese Martial Arts

so I just dont get this he has no talent he was 12&1 before his current losing streak
Leonard Garcia is another fighter with a poor recent record but his fights (Like Hardys) are great to watch - and as such true fight fans will watch them won lose or drawer
Mike Tyson Lost
Muhammed Ali lost

most fighters lose yet as soon as Hardy loses he has no talent no right to be in the UFC and all the rest of it

if he loses his next fight he will be cut - but to come out with all that baloney shows how little some of the posters on here know about the fight game

Mir v JDS anyone.

Depends which Mir shows up, if it's the one who Carwin used as a punchbag it should be over quickly, if it's the brilliance we saw against Nog it might be a new champ.

he has plenty of talent but mainly in the stand up he lacks some skills. his not gonna be in the title picture again but can get back to being a mid card guy.

Lytle/Hardy was a great fight with hardy coming forward and willing to stay in the pocket against a tough striker.

GSP is one of the best fighter about so its tough to knock him for that performance and he could of just quit that fight but shown heart.

Johnson just laid on him and he got caught against Condit (which happens to alot of fighters and carlos has proved to be a good fighter since that fight.)

he isnt getting cut cos he puts on a show but another loss could be the final straw.

This is MMA, so anything can happen as proved in the past, but I'll be massively surprised if Mir even comes close to winning this fight. JDS is simply on a different level to him right now. Mir stands hardly any chance on the feet when you consider JDS is one of the top strikers about right now. So Mir's main game plan will very likely to be put JDS on his back, and as we've seen before, JDS has some great take down defence. Everything points to a JDS win here and I'll be very surprised to see any other result than that.

Shame Big Foot got cut, might have been a good fight if he could see.

Dana has to consider Dan Hardy for the smashes now. He's back on form.

I wonder where "Big Country" figures now after his win?
I am still not his biggest fan though.

Still don't think Hardy improved that much but great KO against a top striker in Ludwig. He really has to work on his wrestling because Duane was stuffing his takedowns.

Sass is slowly winning me over with his fantastic submissions.

JDS KO of Mir was fairly predictable but my goodness that card was violent.

Frank Mir was so bruised he looked like he'd actually changed race.

Title fight went exactly how I expected, with Mir standing barely any chance really. Dos Santos is on a different level to pretty much any Heavyweight in terms of striking and he just so happens to also have great take down defence. Things can change quickly in MMA, but right now I really cant see who is going to beat him any time soon, he's a step ahead of everybody. Cormier needs to be brought in as soon as possible to be matched against Dos Santos IMO. No doubt they'll also aim for a Cain rematch too, which I would expect to not be all that different of a result to the first. It's lovely that JDS comes across as such a lovely guy too, seems like a top bloke.

Great to see Hardy back to winning ways too, good win here. Surprised Bigfoot got taken apart the way he did if I'm being honest.

And it was great to see Dollaway pick up the win against Miller. I couldn't believe Miller went into this as the favourite. His cardio still hasn't improved since the Bisping fight either.

Gutted for Brandao though.

Very good card overall and of course next up we have 148 which should be brilliant as Silva takes on Sonnen for the second time in what's a very good looking card.

eDIT: (Scrap that, got mixed up, 147 Brazil show next and then 148 which is Silva/Sonnen. Also, Cain/Dos Santos has been confirmed)

UFC are running a UFC on Fuel show on 29th September from Nottingham, likely with Dan Hardy in the main event.

Oi Oi!

Yeah, should point out that because it's a FUEL TV card (rumored granted) the odds of a quality event with a big headliner is fairly slim.

And I know Hardy won, but for him to be 1-4 in his last 5 and headline an event would be the very definition of Dana White thinking you'd only go to a UFC card for British fighters, hence the lack of big names going to England.

If Hardy- with the UFC brand of course- can sell out a 10,000 seat arena in Nottingham on his own, and I'd imagine he will, then I doubt UFC would see the need to put on a strong card.

Dammit. Ellenberger had so many chances to finish Kampmann and there he is getting brutally knocked out with knees in another come from behind win for Martin.

Hendricks vs. Kampmann next for the #1 contender apparently.

Ellenberger had that period in the first round was ut, where he got Kampmann on the ground, and tried to hit him with loads of punches in quick sucession, but only about 1 or two actually made contact out of about 20 or so.
Very poor technique there.

How come the next UFC event is meant to be this Friday, June 9th but isn't listed on ESPN anywhere or anywhere else on the Sky planner that I can see? They've shown all FX cards recently and even started showing Fuel shows so I don't know why that's missing at the mo?!

It is strange. I know the deal ends in August but that's no reason to mess about with the shows now. I guess I'll be prepared to look online for it but would rather have watched it on TV.

Hi

Can anyone tell me if there is likely to be any UFC fights in the UK this year?

None confirmed yet, but 29th September in Nottingham seems likely.

BJ Penn is apparently coming out of retirement to fight Rory MacDonald on 22nd September in Toronto. This seems an odd thing to do, he's gonna get hammered.
