So who can stop "The Spider"?

SILVA!

The joy is endless. I'd say Silva probably has two possibly three fights at most before he likely calls it a day. There's not a great deal left for him. Probably Lombard if he wins a fight or two, possibly with Silva then even bowing out with one final 'big' fight (GSP or Jones).

The knee ruined it a little, I thought it was to his face and the bout would end in controversy. Looked okay on the replay though, still wish it had gone on longer.

i would love to see him fight Jones and then GSP as in reality those are the only two that can beat him.

but i think thats a bit hopeful and if he were to win both of those i dont think he would have anything left to prove or anywhere else to go.

i thought it was a great/smart knee, Sonnen covered up very quickly and that was it.

Sonnen took 4.5 minutes just to get into mount. It was hilarious to see him mount no significant offense when he got his takedown only for him to get thrashed in the 2nd on the worst spinning backfist possible.

That was an enjoyable fight. Anderson is simply incredible to watch and now Sonnen doesn't have the whole "never been stopped by strikes" branch to hang on.

Munoz vs. Weidman this Wednesday should decide Silva's next challenger.

If Munoz wins then I'd expect he'll get the next shot, not so sure regarding Weidman and whether or not they'll give him another fight rather than rush him into fighting for the title. Likely one of them or Lombard will be the next challenger, but yeah, wouldn't surprise me if they give Weidman more build up rather than rushing him into a fight with Silva.

Either way I cant see either threatening Silva, certainly not Munoz, who I honestly believe would get utterly dismantled by Silva.

Sonnen was all talk, he got taken to school by Anderson.

All this talk of a mefa fight between bones and the spider, I just cannot see it happening.

He is totally dominant in his weight divison now, I cannot see anyone giving him a tough fight in that divison, so Dana might have some serious thinking to do, to try and sort out that division.

Silva said himself he wouldn't fight Jones.

And this current Jones would probably crush Anderson. Unlike Sonnen, Jon Jones smashes faces when he has top position.

If you hate Michael Bisping, maybe you advocate a Bisping title shot.

The thing with Anderson is he's 37 and looks and fights the same when he first came into the UFC. He's a once in a lifetime talent and man of dominance.

I would be surprised if Bisbing lasted a round against Anderson!

He is a monster in that cage, in a talented way, rather than pure brute strength sort of way.
A sure fire Hall of Famer if there ever was one though!

Epic KO by Chris Weidman against Mark Munoz on Wednesday!

We have ourselves a new contender.

People seem to forget how well Travis Lutter did against Anderson Silva at UFC 67.

Until Anderson Silva sank in the triangle, Lutter was doing very well and it could be argued up until that point he was winning the fight.

Just watched the Silva v Lutter fight in full from UFC 67 and until Silva locked in the triangle choke, Lutter was easily winning on the scorecards.

Lutter managed to fully mount Silva, he had Silva in FULL mount and was dropping bombs onto Silva's face.

Silva was getting taken down frequently and easily in the fight by Lutter.

That is the thing though, Champions always manage to find that little bit extra to win, Anderson did then, and has done since.
What happens on the scorecards means jack all, if you make the feller tap out!

Lordy, if I had paid $55 for 149 I'd be fuming. Main event to go but it's been painfully dull.

That was maybe the worst UFC ppv ever, Chris Clements v Matt Riddle was fine. Everything else was not. Dunno if it was a worse show than Mir v CroCop, but it must be close.

Not sure I'd go as far as worst ever, but yeah, certainly nothing special here.

Poor showing from Lombard, such a let down that one was to be quite frank.

At least we've got a string of great shows coming up. Shogun/Vera and Machida/Bader, Henderson/Edgar II and then Jones/Henderson.

Congrats Renan. There shouldn't really be a Henderson VS Edgar 2. Henderson beat Edgar fair and square.

Except the current ESPN UK tv deal is up and there's been nothing announced about a new one. I'd guess it'll stay on ESPN for the moment, but really, who knows.

My bad, apparently the continuity announcer said on ESPN before the start of 149 that they have the rights for another year (presumably till August 2013.)

UFC on Fox about to start, Shogun/Vera and Machida/Bader, really looking forward to this one.

Will try to keep awake, had a long day though so no doubt I'll likely fall asleep right before the two main fights.

I still don't think he will beat Bones though, bring on Bones V Spider, or Spider v GSP, they are the UFC fights that would be the equivilant of Mayweather v Pacquio, lets see if either of them are ever made.
I think I hold more hope for the boxing impossible match up though.
