Well there was a shock, Ronda wins by armbar in the first round, I wonder where she goes from here now? Who else do the UFC have that they can put in with her, and market them in a successful way?

I'm actually quite surprised by how much I like women in MMA, they really do give it their all. A little distracted by Ronda's top - a little style over substance there, waiting for an armbar not a nipslip, Dana!

I think that the biggest problem will be finding opponents of a high enough standard to face Ronda. |

Dana said today they have too many fighters and need to cut 100! They cut 16 yesterday, including Jon Fitch, who had a 14-3-1 record in UFC.
I'd expect this will lead to more boring fights as people will play it safe in attempting not to lose. Anyway, pretty good event. Bermudez/Grice was a war, go check that one out for anybody that hasn't seen it yet. Koscheck stoppage seemed way too early, but after the amount of cheap con jobs he's pulled in the past, I'm not complaining. Main Event was great, Carmouche looked really good and put Ronda in danger, before Ronda eventually added yet another arm to her collection. About as good as it could of gone there. |

I'm enjoying Bellator, miss Strikeforce. Won't do MMA much good if all there is is the UFC. Probably a lot of female MMA fighters out there, so even though they are not known to us there will be no shortage of fights, better than Hendo and Machida dancing around for 15 minutes.

The Silva fight was awesome. I saw a video of a sparring session and the guy hit him and he just went beserk - this guy is scary. Strube was an odd fight, another great ending though. Enjoying Bellator more of late but nice to see the UFC can still put on some decent fights.

The women steal the show again, no surprise there. Great from Tate/Zingano. As I've said, Tate/Rousey would of likely made for a better season of TUF, due to their history and the fact that they'd get right under each others skin. That said, Zingano IMO makes for a better challenge against Rousey and will be a great coach too, coupled with that she's also undefeated and you can sell the fight on that (Though while this fight will still draw up great interest and views, Tate/Rousey would of likely topped it in those terms). Zingano is awesome.
Brilliant from Kelvin too. Underdog all season and just kept coming in and getting the job done. |

Great fights, disappointed with Mir but Cormier couldn't finish him - styles make fights as they say, no quick knockout. Shame about Nate, just knew that head kick would come back to get him, guess you can't expect the other fighter to fight the way you want them to, smart move.

I can't stand the Diaz brothers, they think they are sooo, good, when they are not, so I am glad that this brother got put in his rightful place, cowing on the mat.
I hope that is the last we see of either of them, they have never impressed me. |

The Frank Mir vs. Daniel Cormier fight was awful,,,,, one of the most boring fights in UFC history. I think Cormier just wanted to cuddle Mir cus that's all he did all fight

Had Henderson just winning that fight. Quite a few had Melendez with three rounds to two. Think the judges got it spot on, but yeah, bloody close one that and I'd quite like a rematch now they've both felt each other out to see if Melendez would come and try anything differently. Strong showing from both.
Sonnen/Jones next weekend. Pretty pumped for this one. |

Me too... even though it could be one of the most one-sided fights the UFC have put on since Couture v Toney.

I thought I was gonna hate Sonnen. He has done my head in , in the past. However watching him on the Ultimate Fighter, I actually come to like him
![]() , although I think Jones will win, either late on in round 4 or 5 or by points

Fights should be based on talent in the octogan, not on the mic. Hopefully that is the last we will see of him in there now, let him stick to doing what he is best at, mocking people with his pizza business. |

I said Sonnen was all mouth and no bite, and so it proved.
