Thanks for the recommendations guys, will get around to checking out some of it when I have more time, probably summer.

That was a good fight between Hendricks and Lawler, little more dancing than I thought there would be but enough action to make it good.

Wow!!

Spoiler
Fairy tale ending for Hendo, Shogun's face was flattened, looked like he needed his mouthpiece surgically removed. Few hits to the back of the head but he was done. It's a pity he wasn't so careful with Belfort, he left himself open when he was brawling with Shogun and got rocked a couple of times. A bit of work on that and the guy's got a few more wins in him I am sure.

For a 43 year old guy whose been in an many wars as he has, incredible example for all.

I wonder where Big Country will go from here?

He surley is not ready for title shot just yet, so I think he needs a few more wins under his belt against high level opposition, perhaps the Dutch/Brit Overream might be a good one for him?

Either way, I too love him, becuase he is not filled with six-packs etc, he could be anyone of us really!

A year off and a dodgy eye certainly sapped the life out of The Count, having a wrestler sit on him for most of the rounds didn't help either, out struck as well - what little strikes there were.

I now have BT Infinity and get BT Sports, strange watching UFC live. Some good events coming up in quick succession, great stuff.

Highlight reels don't count for much against Jones, do they. He can punch people in the face with his elbows, unreal. Only someone with equal height and reach stands a chance against him.

Seeing quite a few with this opinion but no way for me man. Silva started really well but once Brown got back to his feet and survived the early flurry it was basically two and a half rounds of Brown destroying Silva. After that first half of a round it was about as one sided as they come. Silva was a warrior for taking the beating that he did but quite tough to watch at times because he was verging on "Okay, this dudes verging on the dangerous side of this beating" which showed in him being stretchered out. His cardio was horrendous on the night, whether that was legit his cardio or down to a possible concussion or something, no idea.

Personally wouldn't put it anywhere near a fight like Hendricks/Lawler which was a true back and fourth five round war and Saffiedine/Lim.

The heart that Silver showed was immense and he really hurt Brown in the 2nd round twice with Kicks to the stomach... a great fight for the fans like I said before

Chael Sonnen vs. Wanderlei Silva is off allegedly due to Silva running away when random drug test people from the Nevada commission turned up at his gym. Chael now fights Vitor Belfort on July 5th. Assuming everyone passes their tests.

They're all at it aren't they, shame. Still Belfort should be an equally good fight.

Just realised there's two UFC Fight Nights on the same night, going to be a long weekend.

I was just thinking about the TJ title win, what would people say was the biggest upset in UFC history?

I would say TJ was the biggest upset.. although I was telling all who would listen that the odds were way out for a 2 horse race

Silva V weidman was also a big shock

Weidman was a very accomplished fighter before the first fight, I don't think it was quite Fedor shock levels.

I would like to see more huge upsets, but we rarely get say a number one seed or champion say facing an eighth seed do we?

Anderson was always going to lose at some point, methinks Serra beating GSP was probably the biggest.

Definitely, there's no way Strickland won all 3 rounds. I could give him 1 and that would be generous, the judges should be disciplined. Even Dana White thought Barnatt should have been given the victory.

I'm not sure which fight it was but one of the ones in Brazil had a score of 30-27 to one fighter and 30-27 to the other. I don't understand how two judges can score so differently.

The Barnett decision was poor but not a touch on the Pearson one last night. One judge actually scored it 30-27 to Sanchez, crazy.

The UFC judging is quite simply the worst in World sports.. the Pearson result was truly shocking decision
it is now time for a major rethink and finance directed in some judges who actually know a bit about the sport

it is bringing the UFC into disrepute - I can think of no reason other than corruption or 'Blind' judges to come up with that result

over the last few years there have been some real shocking decisions and this is another to add to the list

the two judges who scored this to Diego (my fav fighter) winning this should never be allowed ringside ever again

Wow, that result was shocking. Sanchez won the third round, maybe, but Pearson won the first two rounds by a country mile. Kenny Florian even said the judges should be ashamed.

Only just realised there is a DS UFC thread! Nice.

Yeah one of the worst decisions I've seen in a while, and that's saying something. Fair play to Florian and Anik calling out the judges on it though.

Yeah, it's good of them to speak up. A boatload of fighters have slammed the judges as well, so it seems the only people who think Sanchez won are the two judges and Sanchez himself, who said he definitely won rounds 1 and 3.

Dana White has said Pearson should have had the victory and the result was bull. He also said that they will move forward as though Pearson was given the victory and schedule him accordingly.
Good call imo
