In my local high street... at one end theres three mobile shops in a row (The Link, Phones4U and Carphone Warehouse) with O2 and Virgin Megastores (selling Virgin Mobile) opposite... AND at the other end of the high street, theres another three next to each other (Vodafone, T-Mobile and a new one... FoneHouse [or something??]) with Orange opposite... who are also next to Superdrug who are flogging phones on the 3 network...!!!

Thats a LOT of phone shops!

Our shop now has (by the looks of it) a temporary O2 board over the old The Link logo.

Sounds like AlarmsBloke might be stuck in the past when Three phones were bulky like the old NEC. Perhaps he's still got one.

I am very happy with Three, and their phones as someone else said, are just like any other network sells now.

You're living in the 80s, my three phone is smaller than most peoples phones and I also get coverage in places where people on vidafone dont. it performs especially well in underground pubs and clubs where all other networks seem to die!

In my parents town (dumfries) there was a runnign joke a few years back that all that was left on the high street was phone shops and banks. Its changed a bit now... they also have cash converters and the money shop!

there seems to be a shift away from shops like cpw and phones4u selling all networks and 'independent' and more emphasis on network shops who adevertise their brand on high streets and also save on commision being paid to independents. maybe phone4u and cpw should watch their backs.... why sell through 3rd partys when you can sell yourself?!
