Why You Should All Vote for Carol & Matthew

So far, she's been the only female celeb who hasn't whinged like a prima donna in any sense...... "I'm too old"..."I'm too young"... "I've just had a baby"... "There's too much pressure cos I'm the favourite"..."I'll cry and then they'll all vote for me cos my partner's so rude and horrible" blah, blah, blah. Carol just smiled and got on with the job which makes her a winner in my opinion. Vote Smiley Carol

I really like her on SCD, I haven't in the past. She does seem really positive, and determined without alienating the public. Plus she's dancing with Matt. Another reason to vote for her!

I do like carol and may well vote for her. But she may well have whinged -its just that the BBC's angle on her is going to be 'the determined one!'
She was good on Saturday but I expected her to be better -think she will get better tho!

Totally agree. It's refreshing to see someone prepared to work hard and get on with it. I thought Emma was amazing in her quickstep on Saturday but her "the pressure is horrible, I'm so clumsy, I've never danced before, honest" act irritated me a little. Look, you've danced before love, admittedly not ballroom/latin but you're experienced in learning routines and your body is used to doing what you tell it to, so you have a slight advantage. If she admitted that I'd have a lot more respect for her.

I have been impressed by her attitude too. I like the fact that she's determined but they still seem to be having fun - I'm always a fan of a strong woman. She's taking it seriously but not too much so. And she's surprisingly funny too with some of her little aside comments.

Obviously people should just vote for whoever they like the best but for me the combination of Matt's dancing skill, Carol's good personality, her determination and good demonstration of potential, they have my vote at the mo.

ITA! The show should be fun, and she gives the impression it is, and she's enjoying herself. You do wonder with some celebs if they actually give a thought to how much work is involved, or if they're just looking for a TV exposure opportunity.

Just remembered another reason..... courtesy of Fiona Phillips on ITT.....she's the only one who's not an actual "performer" and that gives all the others an additional advantage as they're used to turning on a performance for their audience.

But Carol is an ex model (im a scot you see and was well used to seeing her modelling in all the newspapers etc) so she knows how to 'turn it on for the cameras' and pose.
Thats not a criticism just an observation!

Of course, but she's not an actress nor a sportswoman which you can bring more from than you can presenting and modelling. I think Carol is naturally one of those people who is very good in an audience type situation - otherwise she never would have gotten where she has but she isn't a performer per se.

Yes okay, I do actually like Carol - she is my second favourite (as a fellow scot!).

Why on earth would you be saying Im patronising

Im also a weegie.
That was rather rude to call someone patronising for stating their opinion. And Carol is my second favourite!

Sorry if I've offended your delicate sensibilities. I merely meant that you assumed only Scots would be aware of her career as a model..... albeit about 20 years ago.

Ah okay! Sorry to be so defensive!
I thought she only was a model in Scotland - not in England but Im hardly the authority so Im probably wrong (it has happened on a few occasions!)
Im not usually so delicate but this board can turn into chaos in the blink of an eye so you have to keep your wits about you!

I'm not sure if she was known as a model here but I think it's fairly common knowledge that she was - along with the fact she's a former 'Rear of the Year'

Oh dear someone suggested that Carol should have gone on Saturday because she was like a 'plank of wood', nothing to do with her dancing ability.

So looks like there is one idea that she should win cos she doesn't whinge and anything school of thought says she should go cos she doesn't whinge, funny that.

She should win if she's the best dancer. I think she has a strong chance. Especially with the fabulous teacher she has

Whoever said she was a plank of wood must have mistaken her for someone else. With work she stands a reasonable chance of winning. I like her, always have and I like her non whinging attitude. Everything Ally said in the first post was spot on.

I've never had any real opinion of Carol one way or another but she's really impressed me so far. I especially liked what she said about feeling a responsibility to put in a huge effort after Matthew kept travelling up to Glasgow to train with her.

That's the kind of attitude which this type of show should be all about.

She seems genuinely keen to learn a new skill and sto ubject yourself to jive on live tv at any age earns my respect !

They do have a great partnership. I loved them on ITT today. It's clear they have a lot of understanding and respect for each other, and the same determination and passion to do well, but they're not taking themselves too seriously, they're still having fun. Bascially, they just rock!

Yet again...... another "excuse" crawls out of the woodwork - this time for Claire King. Isn't it more likely that she realises that the lovely Carol is her serious competition within their particular niche. Not only is the Divine Miss S several years older but she is a much more capable dancer !

Well said. Carol & Matt look so good together. It is easy to forget the difference in their ages. Both are a credit to the show. Matt's patience and Carol's determination is a great combination. They are both lovely people and this partnership is everything it should be. There is no pretence. What you see is what you get. They work hard, respect each other, have fun and brighten up our living rooms every Saturday night with their performances. I hope people vote for them. They really deserve to do well.
