Hello i have just bought an ipod nano off a friend and want to completely format it, how would i go about this?

You just connect to iTunes and press restore if you want to completely get rid of everything on the iPod, iPod summary page that buttons on. Though I think it'll just copy everything over anyway and get rid of everything else and change the name etc etc.

iTunes 7 you'll need, or install the software from the disc that came with the iPod, or download the iPod updater from the apple website.

Sorry got another question, how long do they take to fully charge?

A full charge for completely flat to full takes (according to Apple) four hours, although it's usually done after two.
