Couldn't see another thread on this - glad to see someone in the public eye talking about this. I recently read the book The New Pearl Harbour by David Ray Griffin and found myself convinced that 9/11 was indeed an inside job.

Anyone agree/disagree?

Hmm, I don't agree that it was planned but I think more could have been done to stop it and I do believe that prior warning was given but little was done to stop it. It would be incredulous if it turned out they planned it...it's too sick to fathom, that doesn't mean it's not a possibility, just too outrageous.

I think human nature and what we would like to believe that others are and aren't capable of doing to achieve their aims means that the truth behind 9/11 is unlikely to ever be unearthed.

There but for the grace of God could have gone someone I love dearly.

It might sound too outrageous but IMO that was the idea - to shock and stun the masses with something unimaginably bad. When you look at exactly what happened and the official explanations of it, they just don't add up. And the so-called 'conspiracy theories' end up looking more plausible than the official version, eg the Twin Towers collapsing - only pre-planned controlled demolition could have brought them down.

The US government has no qualms about killing its own people - look at Iraq, they've sent nearly as many soldiers to their death as those that died in the Twin Towers

Question: Would Bush have got £200 billion to invade Iraq if it wasn't for 9/11?

I don't think this should be in the music forum because it's got nothing to do with music....unless Bellamy is writing a concept album based on his boring conspiracy theories.

My view is the US intelligence agencies just f**ed up. It happens sometimes.

Conspiracy theories aside I think it's a bit of a funny thing for a singer from Devon to be talking about on record.

Yet another example of a minor celebrity using his fame to spout some ill informed claptrap regarding something he knows nothing about.

This conspiracy theory has been done to death in the other forums...The theory, like all of them, has no decent proof whatsoever.

I love his music but Matt Bellamy really should have kept his mouth shut!

Forgive me for going into rant mode, but it was DEFINITELY an 'inside job'. The evidence is all there, including all the strange goings-on in the weeks before it happened (the crazy sale of the ENTIRE WTC complex, the large number of bets placed on United Airlines and American Airlines (amongst other companies directly involved with 9/11) shares going down, the strange security drills taking place at the twin towers where they had to be completely or partially evacuated several times, the sudden removal of security dogs from the buildings etc.), the crazy 'anti-terror War Games' that were happening on the day (these were several test run operations being carried out on that day by the US military, including fake terrorist attacks involving planes flying into buildings - this is FACT by the way). I could go on but I won't because it's boring to people who have no interest in it.

Of course, the only thing you need to think about with 9/11 is why the American government have never, and will never, do a proper investigation into it. It's supposedly the WORST THING EVER to happen on American soil, so you think they'd actually want everything to be laid out in black and white, but NO. It's the same with Diana, they want it to be covered up forever, hence the lack of a REAL investigation. She's the most famous woman in the world, killed in a car crash, so naturally there is no real inquiry , DESPITE the fact that several eye witness accounts and other evidence suggest that her crash was no mere accident. You'd think the British government and the Royal Family might want know if it was an accident or not, right? I'm sure if something like that happened now, they'd blame Al-Qaeda rather than a drunken driver.

He didn't sound ill-informed to me - he quoted the Project for the New American Century report, and I find it's the people who dismiss the 'conspiracy theories' that are the ill-informed ones. If you bother to read up on 9/11 properly there's no getting away from the fact that Bush & co have NEVER given satisfactory explanations for what went on that day.

Read this book and then tihnk about whether we have been told the truth by 'official' sources

And you know more about this subject than he does, I'm assuming? I'm sticking to my description of you in another thread....

Not forgetting the planting of the passport of one of the alleged terrorists on the ground beneath the crash. I have to say I started with a healthy disregard for conspiracy theorists but it's the pathetic arguments of the anti-conspiracy people who got me siding with the conspiracy. they NEVER come up with anything other than personal abuse. Yes, of course NO Govt would EVER kill its own people, right? LOL.

If so, how come not one person lost their job as a result of 9/11?

Read those and tell me that the US government wouldn't kill its own people.

Whoever really carried out the attacks, they certainly weren't designed to maximize loss of life, that's why the first plane flew so high into the tower.

I think thats a bit harsh. For one he's not a minor celebrity, he's a musical genius.

And he's entitled to his opinion about 9/11 whether you agree with what he says or not.

You say this is something he knows nothing about..why? What do you know about it? I'm not being rude, just interested.

Maybe Mr Bellamy should spend a little more time on improving his song writing skills, rather then passing off second hand opinion.

Never mind 9/11 conspiracies, the World would be a far better place without Muse.

I've read many theories and watched many tv programs investigating the 9/11 attrocities.

I have still not seen a proper arguement that PROVES that the Govt instigated the whole thing.
Just a lot of Journalists who seem to have a grudge against Bush and show complete bias when presenting their case.

For me, the look on bush's face when he was told what had happened is enough to show that the thing was not planned by the US govt, if it was, Bush clearly wasn't involved.

As some have said, already, it just seems like a publicity stunt from a not very well known lead singer of a band showing clear Bias against Bush. I had never heard of Matt Bellamy before reading that, I had heard of Muse but not any of their names.

Should try to promote himself with his music rather than with unproven claims against large countries
