Do you think maybe Dionne won't get far because of her comparison to Brenda...

I know this may sound silly but is there a chance that maybe Dionne won't do so well because she is compared to Brenda alot.

Brenda was a fantastic singer, energetic, sassy, had a powerful voice and was a brilliant entertainer.

She was never in the bottom 2 meaning she must have got her fair share of votes untill the semi-final.

I am a huge Brenda fan and voted for her many times last year, but this year even though Dionne is equally as brilliant i don't think i will bother voting. I've seen it all before and even though i think Dionne is amazing and should get far i was wondering if maybe it's because people tried with Brenda and don't see the point trying with Dionne. Brenda was maybe even better and if she didn't even make the final then what chance does Dionne have?

What do you guys think?

Have we seen it all before or should Dionne be recognised for the great voice she has?

Dionne does have a very good voice, but personality wise she has nothing on Brenda. She seems a little stuck up, to me, and I realise that it's probably just nerves, but that's how I feel when I watch her.

I don't think their voices are similar at all, so I'm not sure why people keep comparing them. I wasn't a Brenda fan because I felt that she just sang loud, rather like her personality.

Dionne has more layers and depth to her singing IMO, but it's early days. We'll have to wait and see how she does next week.

Ive said this all along

A lot of the black singers sound the same - the women, the boy band, and the black guy who went first this week

The guy who went first, sounds a lot like andy form last yr - if anything, if you closed you eyes i bet you couldnt even tell who sang

WHich is why ppl lik eben are great, as they are different

I kinda feel sorry for the first black guy because you know it means a lot to him and he does have an excellent voice, but i dont think hell win it simply because his voice is too similar to other black singers

No comparison between Brenda and Dionne.

I kinda think its all down to song choice, if anyone else sings Maria Carey the similarities will be drawn. If Robert, or indeed any of the others on the show really want to impress, the mentors should search outside of the box for songs, not only the ones that have been played to death over the years that people assimilate with a well known voice.

With the amount of material at their disposal, surely they could get it right for each of their acts. If the show/mentors were really that clever, they would pick songs the we love but have been forgotten. The type of songs that everyone says "oooh, I love this song. Who sang it again?"

There again, this year it is purely a promotional show for already established artists to promote their new stuff, which I think proves the show si more than a tad desperate
