Predict this week's song choices..
So, it's Rod Stewart week. I've read on another thread, that it's in The Daily Star, that The MacDonald's will be singing 'Sailing' (Great choice, Louis
Haven't read The Star today, so not sure if any of the other act's song choices have been confirmed, but these are my predictions: Ben: Hot Legs Dionne: I Don't Want To Talk About It Robert: Baby Jane Kerry: You're In My Heart Nikitta: The First Cut Is The Deepest Leona: Every Beat Of My Heart Ray: Smile Eton Road: Maggie May (Would love to see them do this!) 4Sure: Do Ya Think I'm Sexy (Most likely, won't happen, but if they pulled it off, they could gain lots of fans) |

I predicted on here some time ago that the McDonald Brothers would end up with the dreary 'Sailing'. I'm also still convinced that Ashley's going to get 'Do ya think I'm sexy'
Apart from that I find it very hard to call (although I'd agree a lot of your choices are really good) - that's because I reckon at least half the acts won't go for Rod songs per se but will choose 'classics' from his Songbook albums - and there's so many of them it could be nearly anything. I reckon Eton Road and 4Sure will go for that option as Rod's songs aren't exactly known for their harmonies. If 4Sure attempted 'Do ya think I'm sexy' I reckon it would lose them an awful lot of fans

I think the show will be a mixture of original Rod Stewart tracks and songs he has covered in his American Classics album, so they won't all be singing Rod Stewart songs.

This should be a good week for Ben more than anybody else but I suppose it's swings and roundabouts with theme weeks.

Some good choices there, scotsbluebell, especially those you chose for Nikitta and Ben.
I don't think 'Tonight's the Night' would work for Leona, though - it's really a man's song. I can't see her singing 'Take off your shoes and sit right down/ Loosen off that pretty French gown'.

Other songs to choose from are on his new album (released Monday 23 October - hence his reason for taking part!) - "Still the Same - Great Rock Classics of our time":-
Have You Ever Seen The Rain Fooled Around And Fell In Love I'll Stand By You Still The Same It's A Heartache Day After Day Missing You Father & Son The Best Of My Love If Not For You Love Hurts Everything I Own Crazy Love You can bet that all the guests on this series will have something to plug and promote - Lionel has a new single - Rod has this album, Benny and Bjorn have "Mamma Mia!" and a re-issue of the Arrival album AND a No.1s CD ... I'm sure none of them will be appearing out of the good of their hearts. This is the biggest show on UK TV at the moment - a guaranteed audience of millions. What better promotion could there be in return for a couple of hours of their time. Call me an old cynic ...!! |

I bet you anything Ben is doing Maggie May or the First Cut Is The Deepest, as they are the two most recognizable songs to the public.

According to the X factor site, Nikita is really happy with her song. This will be a good week for her I think, as she could be doing 'The First Cut Is The Deepest', 'Sailing' or 'I Don't Wanna Talk About It'.
