"As you might imagine, we are upset at Windows for not being more hardy against such viruses, and even more upset with ourselves for not catching it." Brilliant!

Fantastic! Smacks of a slight let's have a go at Windows publicity stunt though!

Based on what? Microsoft don't exactly have a great track record. Plus there have already been security issues with Vista.

I didnt base it on the EU delayed. Microsoft main concern with this OS is securtiy. There for it should be more secure. Now lets stay on topic

I think the factory should consider changing their computers.

The way current anti virus protection works is to scan files and registry changes to stop a virus being activated - Microcrap has changed the way Windows works and now blocks this action thus making Windoze LESS secure. You couldn't make it up!

Isn't the idea behind the changes to make it harder for the virus writers to cause havoc on computers, therefore making the computer more secure, but without requiring such deep level virus scans! I dunno, that's just the impression I've got from the various places I've read information about it!

Are you sure? Have you ever placed a Windows machine on the internet without a firewall/patches, it'll be crawling with them in minutes! Any OS besides Windows on the other hand...

That's what I thought too, I think the arguement above is simply what the AntiVirus companies would have us believe.

Ahhh, another cynical person! I like it! Of course the AntiVirus companies want us to think it's less secure.....their whole business relies on us buying their security software! I have a feeling that's why Norton are trying to take Microsoft to court over the way Windows is blocking their software!

No. I'm trying to give Microsoft the benefit of the doubt for once.

Since these were built in china, it wouldn't suprise me if the chinese authorities had something to do with it.
