I was thinking back the other day and remembered that the first single I ever bought was The Kinks "Days" in 1968 (No.12) and my first album was The Bee Gees "Odessa" in 1969 (No.10).

It got me wondering about other people.... and if they could remember their first purchases with their own money. Whether it was vinyl, cassette, or cd.... list your first single and album.

SW

(btw, in almost 3 years, this is the first thread I've started.... so please post.... even if it's only abuse.)

Great thread!

My first single was a record (lol) of Snap's 'Rhythem is a Dancer'

First album way before then.... my Mum bought me Kylie's 'Enjoy Yourself'

Is it bad that I still know all the words......

ps I too have Slam Jam by WWE Superstars. On record.

I feel strangely relieved now!

My first single was... something by a pop group from Newcastle who had exactly one song then disappeared into obscurity in the 90s. Don't remember what.

The first album I bought was only about four years ago - Until then I dropped hints and my mother, ever the generous one, bought it for me. Christina Aguilera, Stripped.
