Yes! That must be why I thought she was a nurse when she turned up at Phil's house (missed the episode where they met)! She had a really broad northern accent before though, didn't she? Don't think much of her taste in men though - Martin Platt and then fatty Mitchell? She's too attractive for either of them.

she had a strong Geordie accent in Corrie I seem to remember. Soaps seem to make a habit of teaming up good & bad lookers, e.g. Barry & Natalie, Jamie & Sonia, Phil & anyone.

She is lovely. Too good for Phil. But then so is almost everyone - even Sharon. I really dislike his character. He was bad enough before his character change a couple of years ago, but now he is my vote for the worst character in soap (with Les battersby a colse second). I think Lisa should return and kill him off properly next time.

Agree with you there. Let's face it, if only beautiful people got their end away then there would BE no ugly people as they wouldn't breed. Luckily, most people in real life are not so shallow.

Of course he would! This is why I hate his character so much - totally unbelievable that he could beat anyone up or that anyone would take his threats seriously. At least Grant looked like he worked out (AND was obviously unhinged!). But I remember the days when Phil was the NICE brother. What went wrong?

I think the writers did him a disservice by completely changing his character into Grant's. The fact he is ugly is actually not what I was getting at. He is a horrible person. Very unpleasant with no redeeming qualities at all. And he is not helped by appalling storylines involving Lisa and acting with Babs Windsor!

I didn't SAY he was ugly! I don't think he is. But I don't know why people would be afraid of him as he is obviously overweight, not very tall, and very unfit (if the fact that he is always out of breath and red in the face is anything to go by). He might own 'an elf club' but I doubt if he ever actually uses it and he doesn't look the type to go jogging. Beat me up? He'd have to catch me first!
