1899 increase connection charge from 23/10/2006
A friend of mind has just got an e-mail saying connection has been increased to 4p from 23/10/2006.
Users would now be better off switching to sister company 18185 who also charge 4p (at the moment ),but they offer cheaper ngn, mobile and intl calls, from BT landlines.

No email here or at any of my 1899 using friends to whom I've spoken.
The site still says 3p. Will have to check online billing tomorrow and see if this is true. |

Still no sign of the email here either yet and as a reasonably heavy user of 1899 that's a little off-p1ssing to say the least

I've not received the e-mail either but their site now shows the 4p connection fee. http://www.call1899.co.uk/index2.php OTOH, I just love their 6/10/06 news: Quote:
06-10-2006: Free calls for 3 new countries!Call the following countries for 0p/min: Ignoring the fact that, of the "3 new countries", they only manage to name 2, the prices when you check the tariff lists are:Austria Germany Austria 3p/minute Germany 1p/minute Think I'll stick with 18185 now. No email from them either about this price increase.
...but then they have never billed me either. It's been well over 6 months now! Any idea how much call charges you need to accrue before they decide to bill you?Signed up with 18185 now, but they say they will bill me monthly. |

I sometimes get billed monthly or sometimes every two months. Just checked my calls and it's 4p connection fee.
I don't make that many calls. |

£1.53 taken from my account today...
Invoice dates from 27/1/6 to 19/10/6 so no real pattern. Not had an email about the rises either. |
