I'm thinking of buying that mp3 play, so does anyone use that mp3 player and what do you think?

thanks

Is that the one that is £55 for 512MB and £85 for a 1GB?

If so you can get better sizes for less money if you look around.
Amazon have 'used' 2GB nanos for £90. Tehy also have iRiver 6GB from £90.

^ The Apple website has refurbished 2GB Nano's for £65 including delivery.

look similar to the ones on ebay at £35 delivered or so for 4GB.
Ipod imitations, limited battery probably if but full featured.

Would you really want to watch videos on a screen as small as the nanos or the iTronics?

how small is the screen in pixels?

The argos website says the itronics has a 1.5 inch screen, same as the nano, so the resolution proboly is 176 x 132 pixels, same as the nano.

Dunno about pixels .... not many I'd imagine.

It's a 1.5" screen ..... about the size of a large postage stamp! Don't think I'd be able to watch anything worthwhile on a screen that small ....

I'd imagine actually using it for video would kill the battery as well. It says "up to 6 hours" playback .... that'll be music so not using screen. Use it for video and most players get about 1/4 to 1/3 of the battery life they're capable of for music only ...

There are quite a few players around 1/2gb for £50 or thereabouts that'll play video (albeit limited formats ... you're not going to just download a DivX file off the net and play it on one of them ... conversion will be required). But ... at that price they are all crappy little screens.

Whats you goal here? Do you actually want to watch films on it? Whats the source of your video? How much is "cheap"?

TBH .... if you want to watch films, without endlessly converting files and then ruining your eyes squinting to see a tiny little screen ... you're into PMP (Portable Media Player) territory .... and the decent ones aren't cheap.

Hell, my old mobile (Moto E1000) played video better than most of these cheapo MP3 players ... and had a bigger screen too!

whats the name of those cheap mp3 that play videos?

i dont intend to watch movies on it but wouldn't mind watching a few music videos.

my main price range is about £100 because i dont intend to use it 24/7 so dont need the mass features ipods come with.

There are a few variations on that SumVision one but they are all about the same spec.

Better screen ...

http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk/...=specification

(a tenner less if you take a recon unit)

Another SumVision one (I quite like the look of this one) ...

http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk/...oducts_id=1649

Wee bit more expensive but a nice little 2" screem, good music handling and video may even look half decent on it (but you'll have to convert everything first ... as you will for pretty much all these players)

http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk/...oducts_id=1534

Or if you want a bit more memory, but still under £100 ...

4gb - http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...109993&_LOC=UK
(Sound the the reviewer had fun with the conversion software for video ... not!)

5gb - http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=318070

Just have a browse about, there are plenty of them out there.

you could always buy the Medion Smartphone/GPS system at £100 and stick SD cards in.

The £35 4GB Ipod clones with FM radio,FM recording, mpeg4 video playback etc possibly play DVDs encoded direct with the free AGK. I strongly suspct these will play many more file types than a restricted Ipod.
