I wouldn't have listened to Lionel Richie no. And to tell you the truth I have never heard You've Lost that Loving Feeling. I don't even think I've heard the Righteous Brothers sing! There are actually a few songs on the new album that I have never heard.
In my house I've grown up with Elvis, and older music as my dad and mum were older parents when I was born. Up until my dad died I listened to Elvis. I was 9 when he died and am 21 now and still listen to Elvis. My mum listens to Daniel O'Donnell, Foster and Allen, The Showbands and other older acts. I enjoy listening to them aso as I have grew up with them.
There is a big age gap between me and my older sister and brother and by the age of 2 I was the only child in the house, so there wasn't exactly a big range of music to listen to. The first ever pop act I liked were PJ and Duncan (ant and dec). Then I went on to support Boyzone and then Westlife. I now listen to The Ordinary Boys aswell. I have only ever liked 4 bands since I was old enough to decide who I liked and who I didn't, and I am not embarassed by my decisions.
As for me making rash stupid judgements, you're the one doing that as you know NOTHING about my life, what I like and don't like or anyhing else about me. The fact that you have even said that to me makes me feel that you don't think of anyone else's feelings or decisions but your own so don't you ever tell me what I need to do. I'll decide if I need to try and understand music.
Myself and a group of 9 friends are going to watch Westlife next year in Dublin. The oldest is 26 and the youngest is 19. So you're wanting this 26 year old to go and understand music also?? What about my older sister?? She's 38 and she went to one of their concerts this year. Or what about a few ladies in front of us this year at a concert? They were 45. Do they need to understand music before they decide if they want to support them?? Or what about the 8 and 9 year olds in the school I work in???
What exactly is there to understand.
In my opinion you either like certain music or you don't. You don't like Westlife Fine but don't make fun of or judge people just because they do like them.
I think
you need to understand that everyone is allowed to make their own decisions who who they do and do not like.
I would be interested to know who you like?? But then again you'll probably not say.
