Did anyone see it tonight?

Really funny interview and Sharon said Nicky was beautiful, so true he actually is beautiful!!! Kian and Mark could lose a few pounds at the moment i think lol.

I also think the new song is great, and i never heard the original so who cares if it's a cover!

All there flaming songs are covers. They are about the most un-original group of the past 20 years.
They can probably only write there own songs if they had crayons. Ughh they are just everything that is wrong with current music. So manufactured, not allowed to do original music, it's sickening.

Westlife arn't pretending to be the Beatles - and I don't think that many of they're fans think they are talented musicians or an origianl group. But..........

Westlife are good looking, can sing and cover great songs - rather than modern indie bands who sing rubbish songs (so what if they're original if they're bad), are dog ugly and under the illusion that they are cool and relevant when they are just poor imitations of older better bands.

When a band comes along that sings great original songs, have style and looks then I will abandon Westlife for them in a second but until then.............forget it!

Bits of it had me laughing. Liked the bit where kian didn't know many of the names of the artists (grease monkey and long haired bloke were the ones that I can remember).
was it me or did sharon osbourne keep throwning herself at them?
liked the bit when they were talking about the idea of a duet with ozzy the prince of darkness!!!!!!!!!! can't quite imagine it though !

So if they are good looking it makes them a good group? PMSL

They only cover what they are told to, and what their manager believes their voices can handle.

I can't see them covering a rock song to any extent. They are only capable of MOR stuff.

Got to be pretty shallow to follow a group because they are good looking, as for style...coverlife? yeah if wearing a suit means style

There's no point in moaning about Westlife, they'll probably be around until they can't stand it anymore (likely soon) and their fans are going nowhere.

And give credit where it's due, they've outlived all their peers - S Club, Atomic Kitten, Five, Gareth Gates, Steps etc -and none of those have been replaced by new pop acts in the charts. Even CDUK had to be axed cos they ran out of pop stars to fill it every week!

Indie and rock have won the war so relax

But I bet you secretly love You Raise Me Up

It runs in cycles generally. Indie may be popular at the moment, but I doubt it will always be.

Come on?? How awful.....hmmmm let's say a scalded cat could out sing them. Their look is dated. They only do covers, as they aren't allowed sharp implements to write songs Unless crayons count

Only teen and early twenty-something girls think they are good. But then again they have no taste.

For those that are old enough to remember, ( Those that don't ask mum/dad/grandparents ) all they need are rocking chairs, and they can be a Val Doonican tribute band

I'm proud to say I have 17 and 18 year old daughters who would rather stick hot pins in their eyes than listen to Westlife!. My (mad, deaf, tasteless) brother does like them and had bought tickets for their concert at Edinburgh Castle a few months ago. Turns out he was also going to Prague at the same time doh! After offering the tickets to me! then my daughters and my daughters friends he eventually gave them away to my neighbour. It was a great night because she didnt pop in for 5 minutes for a change. Peace for me so I suppose in a way Westlife do rock!

Have you disowned your brother?

Good for your daughters. It is quite sad that people think coverlife are talented. Next to panda, unless of course it's the panda from the ads for sauces

You can't just slam a whole genre of music like that. Indie is so broad, and most bands aren't imitating older bands, they're just influenced by many, and IMO that helps develop music, its building upon different sounds and merging them together. And sometimes even making the original sound, sound well, better.
And so what if they're ugly? Its the music that counts, you know. We're not hankering after floppy fringed popstars with hardly any talent at all.
And they aren't all dog ugly either.
Well, there are many that are 10 times better looking than Westlife any day. For example:Greg Gilbert
(C'mon I can't be the only one who thinks he's good looking )
But that's beside the point. The point is he sings 10 times better than any of Westlife. And Delays' songs are also better- plus they wrote them themselves.

(And yes I know the band aren't exactly 'indie' but they're pretty darn close).
Try listening out more. Might expand your horizons further than Westlife.

Thanks very much for that

Turns out I didn't miss them at all. We are a week behind on the Sharon Osborne show here in Ireland and they're not on till This Friday.

But thanks for that Don't have to worry about missing it again

And as to everyone slagging off Westlife fans. I'm 21 years old, and am a MASSIVE fan of them. SO what if they do covers? Thanks to them doing covers I have also been introduced to other types of music. For example I would never have went out and bought a Bette Midler album or come to say a Josh Groben (sp) album.

I have followed them since day one and will continue to do so until I decide I don't want to anymore. The same with Boyzone. I still listen to Boyzone albums, and that's because I like them too.

If it wasn't for the likes of Westlife who cover songs, with millions of fans (this number from record sales!) then the origional artists wouldn't be listened to today.

Just because you don't like someone it doesn't mean you can diss their fans. I can't stand the likes of Take That but I don't go around dissing their fans and calling them stupid etc.

Now that is the biggest laugh I've had in years. Yeah so coverlife, attempt to cover and song from someone 20 years it means they wouldn't have been listened to? PMSL. That just proves coverlife fans know nothing about music.

So on their latest album they cover easy - it means people don't or wouldn't listen to Lionel Richie? or You've Lost That Loving Feeling - The Righteous Brothers? I think you need to try and understand music more correctly before you make rash stupid statements.

Oh you mean like calling hem COVERLIFE.

If you dont like them dont listen to them, get into a slagging match about them or get yourself worked up.

some of the comments that you have made have also been rash stupid comments.

Only teen and early twenty-something girls think they are good.

Im 28 and think they are good. If you have ever been to one of there concerts you would see that that statement is completley and utterley false. The mix of people is diverse.

But then again they have no taste

Come on then tell us what music you like.? I Like to listen to lots and lots of different music and you will proberbly find that a lot of other westlife fans do.

I wouldn't have listened to Lionel Richie no. And to tell you the truth I have never heard You've Lost that Loving Feeling. I don't even think I've heard the Righteous Brothers sing! There are actually a few songs on the new album that I have never heard.

In my house I've grown up with Elvis, and older music as my dad and mum were older parents when I was born. Up until my dad died I listened to Elvis. I was 9 when he died and am 21 now and still listen to Elvis. My mum listens to Daniel O'Donnell, Foster and Allen, The Showbands and other older acts. I enjoy listening to them aso as I have grew up with them.

There is a big age gap between me and my older sister and brother and by the age of 2 I was the only child in the house, so there wasn't exactly a big range of music to listen to. The first ever pop act I liked were PJ and Duncan (ant and dec). Then I went on to support Boyzone and then Westlife. I now listen to The Ordinary Boys aswell. I have only ever liked 4 bands since I was old enough to decide who I liked and who I didn't, and I am not embarassed by my decisions.

As for me making rash stupid judgements, you're the one doing that as you know NOTHING about my life, what I like and don't like or anyhing else about me. The fact that you have even said that to me makes me feel that you don't think of anyone else's feelings or decisions but your own so don't you ever tell me what I need to do. I'll decide if I need to try and understand music.

Myself and a group of 9 friends are going to watch Westlife next year in Dublin. The oldest is 26 and the youngest is 19. So you're wanting this 26 year old to go and understand music also?? What about my older sister?? She's 38 and she went to one of their concerts this year. Or what about a few ladies in front of us this year at a concert? They were 45. Do they need to understand music before they decide if they want to support them?? Or what about the 8 and 9 year olds in the school I work in???

What exactly is there to understand. In my opinion you either like certain music or you don't. You don't like Westlife Fine but don't make fun of or judge people just because they do like them.

I think you need to understand that everyone is allowed to make their own decisions who who they do and do not like.

I would be interested to know who you like?? But then again you'll probably not say.
