That was not mentioned until 2 hours after I made the comment.

By some maybe, but I wouldn't say 'generally'. I have mailed Thomson asking them to put a boot under whoever is responsible.

I just called the Thomson helpline 01788 541970 and they said that Thomson are aware of it, they're getting lots of calls and they are working on a solution.

Maybe if we all call...it may speed things along a bit...

mmlabbd

UPDATE: I have also just called 4tv who apparently are 'unaware' of a problem but have 'heard a few rumours and will investigate' Their number is 01606 812500.

I don't think all of us calling will help at all, it'll slow things down. The important thing is that both they, Beko (Digifusion) and 4TV are all aware of it so it's a start....

Too late for me!
I reset my epg last night hoping it might sort out 5life/us problems for me.
Checked EPG today nada / nothing /zilch! I have NO EPG data.
Not even EPG up to the last reported date of 1 Nov.
It appears that there is NO UPDATED INFO being sent out for even the current EPG so you can't trust any of the data in that case, because changes to transmitted progamme times are not being sent.

I wrote an e-mail to 4tv about Wednesday last week and have not had a reply back. Surprised they were "unaware" of the problem when mmlabbd called them.

Still, if they're aware of the problem, that's got to help.

Slightly off topic but I also mentioned the fact that 5 US and 5 Life hadn't been updated. I mailed five about the same issue as well to see if they could kick 4tv's bottom regarding this issue and have not heard back from them either.

Sounds like there are some problems somewhere with 4tv and I'm expecting to get a mail when all sorted saying that it's ok now. I won't hold my breath though...

I've just had a spark of inspiration. I wonder if the delay in TUTV Anytime boxes being sent out and the current 4tv EPG problems are related. I understand that TUTV Anytime boxes will be using 4tv (although I can not provide evidence, just think I read it somewhere) and of course the boxes are not much use if the guide isn't there.
Perhaps it has something to do with changes that need to be implemented for TUTV Anytime to work properly that has caused problems.

Please note that I am merely speculating at this point and have no fact regarding these issues, just wondering what other people may think.

Gah! You're not my boss are you?? Why is it that when people are trying to debug a technical problem, you'll always get someone who thinks that piling on the pressure is the way to speed up the process?? "Yeah...I hadn't thought of resolving it faster!"

Hi

Just had a phone call returned from 4TV (shock !) I had phoned and left a polite complaint on answer machine. The very pleasent female who called told me that :

" yes they had a major problem, they were (are) working on it and she had been told to tell me that it should be back working from tonight."

let's just wait and see !!!

Hi,

Dont know if you guys are aware but Thomson recently (17-Oct-06) sold their Audio,Video & Accessories division (ie the consumer electronics we are users of).

Link to the RNS:

Whether this has anything to do with the sudden EPG problems is anyones guess although if what tomferguson says is true ("should be back working from tonight") then most likely not.

As a slight aside, all the official Thomson specs on their website for their Freeview boxes state only 7-day EPG. Again, whether this is a recent change or not i have no idea.

Those specs have been there for ages and have been out of date for most of that time. They just didn't bother to update them when it became 14 days about two years ago.

Well it appears that 4TV have sorted out their problem, since at 03.43am we now have a full 14 day EPG. I wonder what the problem was.

If you are that worried about it why don't you ring 4TV then?

Having checked this morning, I've still not got any listings after 1st Nov. Is anyone else still waiting for them?

I've got EPG up until the 7th November now....but I did have a slight case of YLD this morning which cured itself by power cycling. Hopefully the new EPG wasn't corrupt.

No such luck I'm afraid - still nothing after 1st November when I checked this morning.

I get my best signal on Mux D, so getting info from 4TV shouldn't be a problem, and I've not been recording anything in the early hours.

I might try phoning Thomson this evening if I'm home before the helpline closes.

My EPG has now been extended to Nov 8, so there was definitely another valid transmission last night.

What transmitter are you getting your signal from?

Bilsdale.

[message too short apparently- so a few more words - Hmm - Bilsdale - sounds like an answer on 'Supermarket Sweep' - there, that should do.]

Try a mains off/on power reset last thing tonight. It might just work.
