Brendan and Claire definitely, I like fiery attitudes, much more fun than all that goody good stuff

Brendan and Claire, despite the lifts they seem a nore risque couple and should stay in for another week.

I like them both! If I had to choose, Brendan and Claire, because Claire seems to have a slightly better attitude - she doesn't complain, she just gets on with it.

I don't dislike Darren and Emma at all but just prefer Brendan and Claire

I prefer Emma and Darren, but Claire and Brendan are well-matched and as much as I dislike them, I'd like to see them stay in the competition for a while yet.

I think Brendan and Claire are needed in the competition, you always need the baddies.

Darren I like, but IMO putting him with Emma spells dull to me - I don't dislike either of them, I am just not overwhelmed by their partnership.

Why on earth pick just a comparison between these two.?? What a weird thing to do! And why can't you enjoy both? The variety between the professionals/celebrities is surely what makes the programme.

Give such a narrow choice though, I would prefer a professional who does does not cheat in his routines and sticks to great choreography and the rules, and a celeb who has real dance ability rather than sultry posing.

Talk about phrasing a question to try and elicit a certain answer!

How about:

What is more up your street? The fantastically skilled and entertaining couple of Darren and Emma? Or the "let's break some rules to get attention", mediocre talent laden Brendan and Claire?

brendan and claire!! emma and darren are really dull!

Their footwork was actually the most intricate and exciting by far last week. Whoever you support, or do not support, any dancer would appreciate that. But I repeat my point, and support Shappy, this is a ridiculously loaded question by the OP and a really pointless comparison.

Brendan and Claire for me - however, I like all of the couples in the show. I think people can call Brendan many things as no-one can please every one, but a mediocre dancer is not one of them!

I agree, Brendan on his own is by no means a mediocre dancer.

But as a couple, Emma and Darren are far more skilled than Brendan and Claire, so in that sense, as a couple, they are mediocre in comparison. Anyway, that's just my opnion and only based on the one dance I have seen them do.

At the moment Emma might be a more skilled dancer than Claire as her stage school dance experience must have helped her a bit but this show is also about the celebrities improving from week to week so it will be interesting to see how they progress

sorry but they don't do it for me - and having watched the training footage we've seen and them dancing in the shows - I don't think she head and shoulders over the rest of the pack as the bookies and judges would have us believe (not I said "she" - not "they" - Darren is brilliant!). How anyone can be the bookies favourite without having danced in public as she was before the series started I don't know!

I don't think this was a loaded question at all - these two couples are the ones who have had the biggest press and publlicity - and its a fair question on those grounds

My answer - Claire and Brendan - that fire and passion comes across very well on the dancefloor and I like her attitude (will admit that I'm fed up with the sexy& bad boy/ girl thing though. ) D&E just lack that spark

Darren and Emma. Claire is a good dancer, Brendan a good dancer, obviously, but he bugs me sometimes. I love Darren to pieces, and Emma has such potential, she's already outstanding!

It is a loaded question.

If someone asked me: "Who do you prefer - Emma and Darren or Claire and Brendan?", I would say Darren and Emma.

But if someone asked me: "What is more up your street? The sugary sweet, nicey nicey couple of W and X. Or the sexy, fiery attitude pair of Y and Z?", I would say I prefer the sexy and fiery attitude.

So, in effect, the way the question was posed has influenced my answer a great deal.

"sugary sweet, nicey nicey" is quite a negative way of saying somebody is nice.

I totally agree. Saying who do you prefer, full stop, is Ok if you want to compare two of the 12 couples for some reason, but the way it was phrased was as loaded as you can get really.

Sorry but - no it isn't loaded in view of the fact (as stated above) that these 2 couples have had the heaviest media coverage since before the series started!

Darren Emma have been portrayed as the nice/ squeaky clean pairing whilst Brendan and Claire have been given (and are playing up to) the bad boy/ girl persona.

I agree that had the media been less hysterical about them all - it WOULD have been a loaded question. But we obviously need to agree to differ on the point

"Loaded" means the way a question is phrased, and has nothing to do with media coverage, or lack of!!!! Loaded is the way a question is put to get a specific answer.

for me its brendan and claire definately
i like emma and have always been a spice girls fan and she is a great dancer...but i find the fact that shes so good a bit of a put off...boring in fact....i was the same with jill and darren.

I don't like either coupling so far, so based purely on dancing it's Emma and Darren. Emma looks a better dancer than Claire and I prefer Darren's choregraphy to Brendans.

I don't get Brendan and Claire's overdone passion and 'badness' being shoved in my face all the time.

Same here, I still can't get over Jill and Darren, they were the best coupling so far. Emma and Darren just doesn't do it for me, although I'm a big fan of Darren and his choreography. I used to like Brendan Cole a lot when I first saw him in the first series of SCD, but his behaviour towards his other two partners in the past just put me off, and now this Brendan and Claire partnering, is a little bit overacted for my taste.
