Oh! Dear!

I predicted on another thread Georgina would be saved by the "soap vote."
I did think Jan would go out.

But if you think about it, a lot of women won't like Ola "she's a threat" and she did say "she thought she was sexy," on SCDT2, not "a good thing" to say and Spoony seemed a bit too full of himself. "a bad thing."

Jan saved by the "mum's vote?"

He was robbed. Utterly robbed.

Not only is he gorgeous, he's also one of the nicest personalities on the show from what I can tell.

Clearly Georgina should have gone out tonight - when will the British public learn that the under dog doesn't need support, they just need shooting!

Ah when you put it like that it is a big difference result but to anyone that's shocked I just want to know if you voted for them? I liked them I didn't vote, never do.

I honestly don't think Georgina will be in much longer now. To be in the bottom two still chances are she's not all that far up the public scores. (If she was she'd be out of the bottom two with Anton and Jan). People I think are going to be rather annoyed by this result and start making sure the good dancers stay in. I think as soon as they judges give her reasonably pleasent comments she'll be out.”

I just can't see myself what happened??? Absolute Farce!!!
It's fair enough having sympathy but when you compare Georgina with Spooney there's no contest. He had much more potential.

If the show continues in this way then I'll seriously consider not making a phone vote ever again. I only tend to vote in the semi's or finals if I feel I need to.

Spoony and Ola didn't interest me as a couple in the way that Jan and Anton or Georgina and James have.

I can't say I'm going to miss them.

But ANTON AND JAN ARE STILL IN!

I screamed and jumped around briefly when I heard this, y'know.

The show was strange in the fact that all the tangos were good whilst the Jives went from Poor for most of them to 1 really good one from Louisa. I am afraid I was expecting a lot better from Emma probably because Darren is the Jive King, so I really expected a Jiver to go, but the problem is that it is mostly a female audience and it is mainly females who will pick up a phone to vote. You also had the problems of a lesser known celeb and a pro dancer who was a lot more covered up until the end. I would bet that if Ola had worn the costume that she danced to Meatloaf in then the result may have been different.

In what way did Spoony and Ola not interest you? Jan and Georgina are in a dancing competition and can't dance. I suppose that is interesting.

Maybe if Spoony forgot his steps tonight he would have been still in the competition.

This is the problem with shows like this. It should be about how well the person dances on the night. How much or how little they have improved since the week before. Instead it is about who fancies Brendan or Anton. Or who people feel the big, bad judges picked on. It's more than a little silly.

The judges don't help when they show obvious bias (the results for Emma were overinflated, imo), as it just encourages this manic fandom that we see on here. The point of the show is to judge the dancing. Spoony was not the worst dancer tonight by a long way.

I don't know. Neither of their personalities grabbed me and made me want to watch in the way that say, Anton and Jan or Ray and Camilla's have. Just personal preference coming into play. He had a certain charm, and a great deal of skill, but I have no great feelings for Ola or him...

Personally, I think the jive is harder than the tango. The tango requires control and precise but the jive requires control, precise and very fast speed. It's a hard dance to do and I thought that Louisa, Emma and Carol all did well. The three of them were leagues ahead of Jan and Georgina.

On the tango side I things I was disappointed with them on the whole apart from Peter and Erin. There's was fabulous. The others severly lacked the drama and 'grr' factor I love in the tango.

Hmmm..

I think "the point of the show" is to stuff ITV as often as possible on Saturday nights on the run in until Christmas.
That's why "an exciting twist" is desperately being sought by the show's producers. Logic says, carry on as it is and finish a week earlier. Fat chance of that happening. Not if there's a gap in the schedules on 16th December where the BBC will have to find a "winner" of a programme to fill it.

Who should have gone out?

Let's not try to look for any logic where the "BBC1 target audience" gets 50% of the vote, shall we?

Sit back and enjoy it, who cares who wins anyway?

Does it really matter?

I would agree about the jive being harder to do (properly) than the tango - but of the two I prefer to watch a GOOD tango being performed. Louisa's jive was EXCELLENT and the best performance of all tonight's efforts.

It's the age-old question: ballroom or Latin, which do you prefer. And, as was mentioned on the programme tonight, dancers are generally ballroomers or Latiners, so to speak.

The four ballroom dances (waltz, foxtrot, quickstep and tango) are, for me, the best to dance and to watch. I still love to see GOOD Latin dancers (I include the jive in this group) but I have never been much good at Latin. I can do the rumba and cha cha in a basic way but that's all. The BEST dance, in my eyes, is the lovely flowing foxtrot.

Yeah I have a slight preference for the ballroom to the latin. I really like all the ballroom dances (tango being my favourite) but I'm not so keen on the samba or rumba. I enjoy a good jive and paso though.

That's probably why I felt so disappointed by the boys tonight. The technicality may be there but the passion felt missing. Peter was the only one who really shined for the boys whilst I think the three top girls (Louisa, Emma and Carol) all did fun, enjoyable jives.

Have to butt in - Anton's latin is not the best. His Rumba is ok. All other latin dances though he kind of gets through them by being funny and cheeky.

Thought he was really entertaining doing the jive tonight though? Kept me laughing! Those high kicks! That outfit! THAT CHEST! THAT BUM!! Now who has got smelling salt?

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! I had a wonderful time!

Matthew & Nicole are lovely and gorgeous and adorable! Matt was moaning about being worn out aqnd Nicole told him he was getting old EEEeeeeee, I love them even more. Matt asked me where I got BtF, I was like er, the internet! lol. Think he wants a copy?!

I love Vincent & Flavia! They're adorable too! Flavia's so cute. After the interview bit with Jimmy and Bruce a production lady came to drag Flavia off to get ready for the foxtrot and she was standing in front of us taking her mic off trying not to cry. Bless!

LOVING Claire & Brendan! I didn't breathe for like their whole jive. She looked stunning, loved her outfit and hair.

Vincent & Louisa were amazing, not 10 deserving really but Bruno had given Emma a 9 so needed to mark higher. Emma wasn't amazing, but Louisa was! In the mock eviction thing Louisa went hehe! Vincent couldn't be arsed to 'practice leaving' and Louisa's like "Come on!"

Talking of Louisa, while theyw ere waiting to film the linkl between shows, her and Lilia were gossiping and Bruce told them to stop acting like school girls! hehe!

Pro foxtrot Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee It was brilliant. It was so cool and slightly odd seeing Brendan and Camilla dancing together, however briefly. James & Ola's rumba was beautiful too.

Speaking of which, OH MY GOD! I'm so upset! Georgie should have gone. James must be feeling terrible

Bruno!!!!!! Gotta love him!

Promised on Anton's thread that I would give a detailed report on the live show so here goes.

October 21 2006
12.00
Started queueing. There were about 10 people ahead of us already. My friend brought some folded chairs with her which came in very handy. Long wait...

15.30 Admitted onsite. Went through security checks. Got given tickets no. 23-26

15.45 BBC canteen. My friend took the chairs to cloakroom. Some production lady with long blonde hair said, 'I knew the show was popoular but I did not know people were camping outside,' Charming!

16.45 Admitted into the studio. We were sitting in the balcony just above the judges! We were told that all pros and celebs had two guest tickets each per show but they could ask for more. Sometimes they had so many guests three quarters of the audience were guests!! (there were about 350 seats in the studio)

17.15 Floor manager working the audience. Apparently last week's audience was very bad (very unenthusiastic)

17.40 Judges took the seats! I screamed, 'Len I love you!!' Bruce came on and sang us a song! He was mush better than Meatloaf I tell you! Also he was very funny without script!

17.45 Show started!! They had these huge screens overhead for audience. Very exciting!

17.55 Bruno's bull**** comment! Bruce gave Bruno a very dirty look as he walked away after the camera was off. Bruno mouthed, 'I am sorry it just came out sorry' at Bruce.

19.15 First show finished. All pros and celebs standing in the middle of the dance floor. Most looked up at the overhead screens to catch the replay of everyone's dances. Some were gossiping. Matt D and Louisa were having an animated conversation, and as were Camilla with Emma. They all seemed to get on really well! Bruce and Tess recorded an in-between clip but had to do it three times before getting it perfect! (Bruce: 'What do you mean it was too long! They are going to cut my line, they always do!' and to us: 'Could you please laugh at my line at the end?' and we all did a trial run on laughing before everyone was happy!!)

19.30 We were given crisps and fruit juice; got called in at 20.15 to record Meatloaf's performance (it was completely separate from the live show so what you saw at home was not live at all!!)

20.15 Meatloaf performed. Very bad lips sync. Don't know why they bothered. James and Ola though were breathtakingly beautiful. When they did the lift in the middle even the judges were clapping!

20.30 Dress rehersal of the result show. Bruce and Jimmy T had a trial chat. Jimmy was very funny too! The pros and dancers looked very relaxed and were chatting and laughing with one another. Anton and Jan and Vincent and Louisa were the two couples with lowest score in the rehersal's pretend result. When Bruce and Tess said the could would leave was Vincent and Louisa Jan and Anton pointed fingers at them and laughed really loudly like school children! Very funny.

21.35 Show started again. Perhaps because we just had a trial run when the result was announced the atmosphere was not as tense as it was normally when I watched it at hom. Shocking results nevertheless.

22.10 We were ushed out of the studio but my friend and I sneaked in and took pix of some dancers and celebs on the dance floor! Saw Anton and all I had time to say was (pointing at his hairy chest) 'What was that about?' and he was then swamped by other fans. At one point a blonde lady spoke to him (I think she was one of the production team) and he said, 'These girls (gesturing at me and my friend and two other girls) are all at my disposal!' cheeky a*se! He kissed me and my friend when we said goodbye!

*End of evening*

I knew it!!! During the last series, I forget which episode, a couple of the pros were dancing during The Song. And then 20 seconds later they were standing in the results bit, wearing completely different clothes. I couldn't believe they had changed so incredibly quickly. In this series I see they keep their pro-dance clothes on for the results.
