Just watched the highlights and can't believe that result I really thought Spoony was going to be in a lot longer..

I'm kinda thinking the problem with Georgina is that she just doesn't look comfortable in heels..which i can sympathise with..not that that meant she should stay over Spoony of course..

I loved Louisa & Vincent, thought Brendan & Claire were really funny tonight - in part because they look like they are enjoying it which is always good. Although Brendan looked really p*ssed off when Darren & Emma came off to get their scores which was interesting..

Thought Len's scoring last night was ludicrous. He gave Georgina's awful, stumbling attempt at a jive 6, but only gave Emma's an 8. Was there really only a 2 point difference in their performance? I think not! Also, Louisa wasn't only 3 points better than Georgina (Len gave her a 9), she was about 6 points better. Len is just too nice to the worst dancers, so he is forced to undermark (relatively) the better dancers.

Len needs to stop being so soft... no way was Georgina a 6.

You know now you said it I seem to recall Darren might have done. I was there live and I thought he lifted her by accident (she was a bit thrown after the mistake at the corner). But no one mentioned it so I thought my eyes had deceived me...

I thought that my eyes must be deceiving me too, as the eagle eyed judges didn't pick up on it, then i missed the repeat on Sunday to double check. Brendan definitely looked a bit peeved at their marks and i thought that may be why.

I don't think it was a lift actually. I believe she kept one foot on the floor, and at no time did he support her full body weight.

Emma was lifted, both her feet were off the floor briefly. I've been rewinding this clip over and over again, and she was off the floor briefly. I do understand now why Brendan didn't looked all to pleased when Emma and Darren both came back to the green room.

Brendan choreographed TWO deliberate lifts, they were totally intentional. Darren in no way choreographed a lift as part of the routine. That was why Brendan was slated, quite rightly, by the judges, so he has no reason at all to feel aggrieved.

I never said he did! I just say that Emma was lifted briefly, intentional or unintentional, that doesn't really matter, what does matter is that it's illegal.

Never mind that! Did you see Brendan and Darrens faces when Vincent was talking and saying to Louisa 'Im so lucky to have you as a partner'.
Darren was smiling but looked like he wanted to laugh but Brendan was actually shaking his head in a kind of 'i cant believe this guy!' way!
It was hysterical! I suppose Vincent was being a bit cheesy!

The point I was making was that Brendan had no right to look aggrieved when he had deliberately put two major lifts, lasting quite some time, into his routine. And from being in the studio last Saturday, no one in the audience to my knowledge, actually spotted a lift in Emmas routine. It is all very well to watch it over and over again on video and then notice it. Live, no lift was noticable at all.

Funny that, I noticed it the moment I saw it, but really couldn't believe my eyes when it happened, that's why I had to go over it again, to be absolutely sure that it was true what I saw. Because I know that Darren would never do something like that intentional.

Suppose it depends on what you are looking at at that precise moment, because the whole thing was so quick anyway! But you are right, I can't see Darren breaking the rules deliberately.

Didn't he and Jill accidentally do a lift 2 years ago? She was supposed to keep one foot on the floor but didn't - that time the judges noticed. I expect that's what happened this time, though I haven't seen it, but the judges were at the wrong angle and it was missed.

I can't see Darrem doing that on purpose either.

Yeh I remeber they took one mark off so she didnt get 10, this was the christmas special and so denise came first. Was really unfair as denise actually did a lift but bruno gave 10 anyway! But then again may have confused two shows together, but it definitely happend at somke point

I'm glad someone else saw it! I also watched it at home and spotted the lift as soon as it was done and was waiting to hear a bad comment from the judges, but it never came! I gathered too that was why Brendan looked angry in the background.

I saw the lift too and was a bit surprised that it wasn't commented on as they had penalazied for accidental lifts in the past.. But I agree, I doubt that Darren did it on purpose, too. He's never done anything like that before and doesn't need to do anything like it to gain votes this series so far. Besides, you'd think that if someone was going to purposely break the rules, they'd do something rether more spectacular than that! =)

Considering we've had remarks from people who were there who did and did not see the lift, and remarks from people at home who did or did not notice the lift, I am guessing that it wasn't noticed by the judges.

Haven't seen the routine properly myself yet.

LOL, true.

Louisa seemed delighted that he'd said it - he sure seems to know what to say to get her on side!
