Coronation Street for me.

No offence but I hate these threads...an argument always comes out of them!

But if I had to choose...haha...I would choose Hollyoaks atm!

- Corrie to me has got very boring after Richard Hillman
- EastEnders has always been my favourite and I used to hate it if I missed an episode but I'm not that bothered anymore
- Emmerdale is getting much better, I don't find this boring anymore!
- Home and Away is getting good now aswel
- Neighbours was good a couple of weeks ago but I don't care anymore

It would be Eastenders, closely followed by Corrie.

I hope no one starts arguing but I thought it would be interesting to see what people think is the best show and why they think that!!

My favourite has to be Coronation Street for me.

Coronation Street, no contest. Apart from Eastenders and the odd episode of Emmerdale, I don't really watch many of the rest of them. Home and Away always used to make me feel a bit uncomfortable on account of the length (or lack of it!) of the schoolgirls' dresses. I know it's hot in Australia, but most of the adults in the show seemed able to get through the day without showing their gussets to all and sundry.

I used to like 'The Bill' too, but don't have time to watch every episode and find that the cast seems to change substantially enough to give me trouble catching up when I've missed a few. I don't know why that happens, because on the other hand, major plotlines in The Bill seemed to rumble on forever ('Why can't they all SEE that Gabriel is a multiple murderer?!' )

I only watch the 'big 3' and as I'm under 80 and I don't like sheep my favourite has to be EastEnders.

so you like poorly acted gangsta stories for teenagers then ?

I'm not really bothered about age or sheep. However I do like a well contructed story, brilliantly executed and with the right balance of comedy and drama.....so it's Coronation Street for me. But having said that, just occasionally when I feel the need for dose of abject misery I'll tune in to Enders. Never bother with Emmerdale as I'm never home in time. Can't stand Neighbours or Home & Away.

It's amazing that some people can keep up with EVERY soap that's out there. I have enough trouble keeping up with 3!

You must be using a different meaning for 'big 3' then, hence the confusion.
Everyone else usually refers to the 'big 3' when they mean Corrie, Emmerdale & EE.

No I did mean Corrie, EE & Emmerdale but I haven't seen a poorly acted gangster story in any of them. Oops I've just remembered the great Streetcars vs 'gangster' Jimmy Clayton war in Corrie.

Emmerdale's best for me. I don't remember the last storyline involving sheep though. People chuck the soaps into categories without even watching them, like people who don't watch Emmerdale are like oh yeah that's a soap about farming filled with people so northern they barely talk English. How long is it since people like that watched? It's nearly all sex and crimes and all that very dramatic soap stuff these days, basicaly like the others. Not to mention there's like, almost no northern people left.

Ooh, and I've just remembered the Johnny Allen/Andy the Rubbish Gangster/Dawson storylines from EEs....

^ I like storylines like that but it annoys me when they drag them out forever!
