Here's my take on last week:-
Ray & Camilla
Excellent technique for Tango. The dramatic atmosphere would have been created better with different music and different costumes. Good solid performance.
My Score = 8
Carol & Matthew
Loved the mix of choreography - sexiness/jive steps/told a story. Carol looked like she needed to let go of herself a bit more - she got the steps in and created dramatic tension well but needed the steps to be a bit bouncier and sharper. Loved the outfit! (On both of them - looked great!) Good Overall look created.
My Score = 7
Matt & Lillia
Loved the costumes - especially Lillia's dress.
Good dramatic opening sequence & closing sequence - good story with Drama.
Steps a little bit gallopy in the actual 'tango' part and again.. music not a wonderful tango but at least they managed to tell a story.
My Score = 7 (was torn between 6 & 7 but went higher because only week 3)
Georgina & James
She tried hard. I thought she did best when was alone at the beginning. She seemed to lose confidence as she was going through the routine - good splits position through James' legs. Not hopeless at all (liked her earings).
My Score = 6 (was torn between 5&6 but went higher because week 3)
Spoony & Ola
Again - great costumes - good atmospheric music. A ittle unsteady/bouncy on walks and turns and lost the atmosphere after going wrong. Good attempt.
My Score = 6
Claire & Brendan
Love the outfits - suited the personalities. Claire's R leg kicks were great but I thought Brendan should have taken out her L leg ones; they weren't good. She had good hips/twists. Claire used great facial actions - at times looked like she was following Brendan a little too much. Loved their cheeky end.
My Score = 7
Jan & Anton
Liked Jan's dress. Anton didn't look good at all. The whole routine was a bit of a mess - didn't flow - dance didn't suit them.
My Score = 4
Mark & Karen
Looked very swanky indeed! Lots of sharp movements - moved across the floor very well. Good tension... excellent content. Loved the beginning. They came apart a little at times.. but overall a very stylish Tango!
My Score = 9
Emma & Darren
Fabulous opening sequence. Little mistake near the beginning and I thought Emma lost her extra sparkle after that. Fabulous finish position. Very good.
My Score = 8
Peter & Erin
Liked the sparkly tie! Excellent tension created.. excellent posture. Needed to pass his feet on some of the steps but kept the Tango technique throughout - worked hard and with determination.
My Score = 8
Louisa & Vincent
Light, bouncy, smiley, complicated routine. Very good.
My Score = 9
So if I have to score it in order from top to bottom couple here we go....
11 Mark & Karen (9)
10 Louisa & Vincent (9)
9 Peter & Erin (8)
8 Ray & Camilla (8)
7 Emma & Darren (8)
6 Claire & Brendan (7)
5 Carol & Matthew (7)
