I don't think I've missed a thread on this, but does anyone know if they are going to replace Jimmy and if so who with?

Surely Flavia deserves a chance to show what she can do?

I think they should just get on with it.. no new contestants & no twists.

To put a replacement in now will make a nonsense of the competition.
The BBC will do something, they've mentioned an "exciting twist"
Yeah!
Their problem is that they've now a "hole" in the schedules which if the series follows a natural progression, then it will finish a week early and they'll have a "gap" on Saturday 16th December.
As the first priority with the BBC is "Stuffing ITV on Saturday night ratings" they will come up with "something."
But to manipulate the competition just to fill a "hole" is a bit pathetic isn't it?

But why do it? There is no need to put in an extra couple, ten are enough as the field was bigger than last year anyway.

Flavia will return with Vincent to demonstrate their World Championship winning "Argentine Tango," at some point you can bet on it.

I agree with you about it being a farce if Tarby is replaced.

Perhaps they could fill the empty week with a professional only comp. That way the schedule will be filled, and they could still get money from the votes for CIN

I totally agree and I like the idea of the professional only comp.

Hi!
I think that they are now 1 week ahead..........they should bring back a old couple or a brand new couple!!

i think it is a daft idea to bring someone new in but apparently its been confirmed that this will happen.
its not fair bringing someone totally new in because they probably wont last long....and bringing anybody back will make a mockery of the public voting system....and could get in trouble like BB did.

Maybe a better idea would be a dance off between the 3 couples that have already been voted off ? Just an idea

They should do something, as it stands the finals of SCD4 & XF3 are gonna clash again

Think that's the plan...it's all to do with channel ratings It's healthy competition

Last night I was trying to think of something they could do to get over the "extra" programme problem and I wondered if maybe for one week they could dance to earn an exemption from eviction the following week. People could then still vote (and make money for CIN) but we would have a week where no one goes.

I just think it was daft they included Tarby in SCD. He is very overweight, probably a smoker and lets be honest a bit past it!! How could any doctor pass him as fit enough to practice each and every day dance routines. It is ridiculous. It was a bit like last year with Gloria, it was embarrassing and I was relieved when she was voted off. It looks really dreadful to have an enormous older woman dancing with a young man! Ugh!! Especially when she was supposed to be SEXY!! God Help Us!! AND I am not a spring chicken myself believe me!! I just think they should be realistic when they pick the contestants. Everyone should know by now the SCD is tough work, not a laugh a minute !! I also do not agree when they have trained Stage School girls (who have DAILY dance lessons) and present them as beginners!! It is just not fair. I have a friend who is a dance teacher and she tells me you can tell IMMEDIATELY when she sees an adult who has had any kind of dancing lessons as a child. Louisa and Emma have an unfair advantage.

Perhaps they have a "substitute" couple who train from the start ? Like the standbys they have in "The Games".
Also, now Gabby Logan has signed for the Beeb, she may well come in. She was VERY upset that ITV didn't allow her to enter SCD.

I for one will be apoplectic with rage if they don't - this was without question one of the highlights of ''the professionals'' last year - oh and Matthew Cutlers pasa doble.....so how come we didn't see that as a demonstration for next weeks dancing - would have been infinately better than James and Ole gyrations -for me personally watching paint dry would have been better than this ghastly couple .

I expect Jimmy already knew he was not fit enough to take part in this show from the very get go but the producers probably thought they could get away with slow dances and being a good friend of Bruce's (god forbid )

I would imagine with so much time to go they will probably rearrange the schedules and finish one week earlier.

I can't see that happening. To be fair, the BBC arrange their scheduling on all channels well in advance.
However, it would be easy enough to put a film on in the "hole" in the schedules very close to Christmas if this competition finishes a week early. But as I've said before, the way this competition is constructed, "stuffing ITV on ratings on a Saturday night" is as important to the BBC as is the competition. So expect it to be stretched out in some way. As I've said before, I just hope the "exciting twist" isn't a lame "this week no one goes out" which wouldn't be "exciting" just a bit of a "twist."
If they have to do it at all and they don't, I'd like to see a gap of a week before the final (more time to practice) and some sort of show involving the professionals put on. Alternatively, a "home and away match" for the three finalists with six dances over two weeks. Points to be carried forward to the second week. If they can do it for football, why not ballroom dancing?

When they did the ice skating one -off show, Gazza couldn't continue so they brought in David Seaman who had some ice-skating experence (so he wasn't behind!) - That could work! I love Flavia - GET HER A NEW PARTNER BBC!
