Anyone else got one of these? Lovely devices. Reliable, good battery life, looks good and most of all, well priced.

I have the pearl one, 5GB, just £99. Awesome.

Shame the company went bankrupt, but it's not a surprise when they sold the things so god damn cheap!!

I've got a silver - had it since June 05. Apart from the power switch being a bit dodgy for a while (seemed to fix itself), and the really, really annoying startup times, its an excellent music player.

Get one! I paid £129 for mine when the 4gig Ipod Mini was £139 - 1GB more for £10 less in a smaller package, and not made by apple!

My sisters Ipod Minis (admittedly used more) bought around the same time don't have nearly as much battery life as mine now has (my older sisters Ipod mini, bought just over 1 year ago now barely plays more than a few songs).

And, they were coming out with an even better player before they went bankrupt

I'm worried the battery life on mine is decreasing. It's still good, nothing to be disappointed with, but I used to be able to listen to it for yonks without it going down. Now I seem to listen to a few albums here and there and it's ready for charging.

Still, no complaints. Even if it has decreased, it has so to a level that is still to be proud of. And it's a lovely machine, simple and pleasing to use. I'd recommend it over an iPod any day.

I've got a Rio CE2100 which I actually won in a "Sunday Times" competition, and I love it. Granted, it only has a 2.5GB capacity on its hard drive but I can fill that with about 500 MP3s so instead of cluttering it up with every single CD I own I fill it with a "best of" my record collection so I never feel the urge to skip a track. The player itself looks great, weighs hardly anything, and fits in the pocket of my shirt, so I can bung it in there when I get on the train. Brilliant little bit of kit.

The Sandisk Sansa E2xx looks like a good replacement - it works as a mass storage device like the carbon, has 24 hours battery life (compared to 20 for the carbon)

pretty good really.
