Hi all, this is my first time posting a topic in the Home Cinema and DVD forum (normally post my stuff in the gaming forums) so please be gentle with me. I have an XBox and PS2, I am using my XBox as my DVD player, now because the XBox also uses 5.1 surround sound in all its games I have decided the time has come to get a surround sound setup so I can enjoy the benefits while watching films and while playing games. I originally intended to buy a system for around £180 where the dolby digital 5.1(no DTS decoder) decoder/amplifier was built into the subwoofer. This idea went out the window after scanning the internet and seeing alot of people saying that DTS is significantly better than Dolby's version of 5.1.

Now I find myself looking at 2 options, I have seen the Sony HT DDW740 (the silver version would go quite nicely with the rest of my stuff) and on paper it sounds quite impressive, but I can't seem to find many reviews about it. I have also heard about the AEGOp5 this won an award in What Hi-Fi.

Does anybody have any experiences with either of these setups(or preferably both) and give me an idea of their strengths or weaknesses. Is the sound difference with the AEGO sufficient to justify the extra cost.

Thanks in Advance,

Steven.
