They seem nice. Too nice. I want Emma to storm off in a strop or Darren to loose his cool, or SOMETHING! It's getting on my nerves a bit how 'perfect' they seem.

I don't really know but I think Emma feels a bit embarassed at being labelled as a possible winner - and so uses her 'nerves' as a bit of a safety shield - in a see, I'm not that much better than everyone else - I get really nervous - sort of way.
Edited to say, I'm not for one minute saying that she really doesn't suffer with nerves, but I think she is trying to level the playing field a bit with the other contestants if that makes sense.

I like them (Emma and Darren) simply because they just let their skill do the talking, and don't rely on gimmicks like lifts (Brendan and Claire), and fights (Georgie and James) etc. to keep them in.

Begs the question, though, should they be acting in a way people find insteresting just because they're considered "too nice"? Maybe they're just genuinely getting on really well, however dull some may think that is...

I can't warm to them either. As others have said whilst being excellent dancers they just don't seem to have that added spark ala Jill and Darren. Not yet at least.

I think it's not helped by the fact that they were such favourites from the start and then there's the danger of them being seen as the judges pet. You naturally tend to want to support more of an underdog than these two.

I don't know... I think the reason I don't like her is that everyone is trying to make her out to be brilliant... I never liked the Spice Girls and haven't seen much to change my mind on her... She might be really nice but she just annoys me...

I agree mindyann she might think that going on about her nerves to shield herself... It doesn't work... My friend just turned to me after hearing her preform and said 'God she's a bit of a big head...'... We know she's gonna be nervous, God who wouldn't be... I guess it's just the BBC though... God I hate the editing...

Spot on! After her first dance the first thing she did was turn around to the other celebs and dancers saying how much I love hanging around with you guys!

For start I hate the expression "You Guys" and it all seems like she is trying too hard!

The above sounds like I hate or dislike her but I don't honest!

Well, here we go again, what a surprise, another let's have a go at Emma and Darren thread! (Not the title, but it is obvious what it would turn into!) Ironic, considering many of the posters are those who were whingeing about people having a go at their idol Anton.

so emma get's nervous, so what? Jimmy Tarbuck admitted on Itt he always gets nervous, Peter said so on SCD too, so did Louisa, who was actually sick with nerves and said so. Why does one little phrase like "I get nervous" upset some of you so much.?? Particularly as it takes all of 2 seconds to say it, and she is far from the only one!

If Darren and Emma are getting on well, and are not stroppy, difficult or tantrum-ridden good luck to them. Why should they have to put on some sort of pathetic temperamental act to get attention. Perhaps the problem is that some people are incapable of seeing beyond their personal favourites. Let the dancing do the talking for them, and I am afraid from that point of view Emma and Darren are good whether people like that or not.

I don't warm to people who have to resort to silly acts, tricks, or ridiculous outfits and appalling routines to gain votes.(I could mention Brendan and Claire, and Anton and Jan).

Hurray Dancingles, was feeling a bit lonely in here defending Emma and Darren by myself!

Thank you for that Dancingles! I have avoided all these "let's have a go at" threads so far, but really surely enough is enough. This has happened to Brendan, Anton and Darren and their respective partners now.

I don't see the need either for people to have rows, throw tantrums or resort to tricks unless they are really worried about their abilities and chances, and have to try anything to stay in the competition. Darren and Emma do not need to do this, because she has genuine dance ability, and if they are both getting on well, putting in a lot of hard work (and nobody can deny they have done as much if not more training than others) and really enjoying what they are doing, I personally do not find that at all boring. So far, they have produced two great routines, and I hope they continue to do so.

I said I want them too, I never said they should. It suits me fine if they continue the way they're going, I'll just find other people to like!

Yes, this is what irritates me about Brendan, he whinges about getting bad marks, but the whole point is to get the dancing good to get the marks, not to resort to throws to try and make the public go "oooh" and vote for him.

For the record I am not having a go at Emma yes the nerves leaves me a bit cold but that's it.

Emma is lucky that she clearly has natural dancing ability whereas Jan and Georgina do not. Brendan has admitted if he does feel his partner is a strong enough dancer he feels he has to resort to gimmicks for the public to save him. It is a competition so that's his choice.

(Sorry if I've read this wrong ~ i find your text-speak and lack of punctuation really difficult to fathom....)

Okay, hang on, time out. No one in this thread has been rude, derogatory or insulting in any way shape or form. The things written about other couples and dancers have been far ruder than anything in here.

All people have done is express they fact that they can't warm to her and are tired of hearing about her nerves. It's quite obvious if you look at the poll on this site that they're not the most popular couple despite being perceived to be one of the most talented. She's on par with Claire, Carol and Peter popularity wise. Obviously something is not clicking with the viewers the way it has with say Jill beforehand and it is perfectly valid to discuss that.

You might not share someone's opinion but it's quite possible to agree to disagree, especially when their opinion is valid and reasonably put.

It's not a 'having a go' thread at all. No one has said 'Emma sucks and I hate her! She's a b*tch'. If people can never say they don't like a dancer or a celeb for one reason or another then we might as well completely abandon this board and close it down because there's no point in having it.

It's crappy when people don't like your favourites for a reason you disagree with but they shouldn't be prevented from expressing an opinion.

It's not a question of favourites one way or the other actually. It's quite simply that exactly the same comments have been expressed by the same people on numerous threads with different headings, and its all getting a bit boring really. I have no problem with people expressing an opinion, but to express it over and over again ad nauseum under different titles is rather tiresome.

I loved Karen last series this year can not take to her or Mark at all.

I think Emma and Darren are lovely, I think they have good chemistry and seem to be having a good time. I just hate the way people keep putting them down all the time. Matter of opinion.

I personally quite like Emma and Darren. They just get on with the job without the need for silly gimmicks, tantrums and rule-breaking.

Maybe that means they haven't got the edginess or spark of some of the other couples, but I don't want to see people putting on an act just to stir up confrontations.

I can't warm to them either and the judges (in my opinion) biased comments and scores aren't helping matters. Not Darren and Emma's fault obviously and I'm really trying not to let it effect me, but I find it very irritating.

I like them both individually and I'm not coming on here just to have a go at all...maybe I'll warm to them although Carol and Matt are by far my favourites!!x

I can't take to her at all.

It's nothing to do with her nerves, I just think she's bland and needs to get a personality.

I've being calling her little miss goody two shoes. I find her very boring and sickly sweet.
