I'm thinking of buying an HD ready tv & the one I really like is the Sony 46X2000, the reviews i've read have all been fantastic except for one consistant fault & that is the picture quality of standard definition broadcasts is very poor. This is naturally a major concern especially at the price. I won't be buying Sky HD immediately, I have at the moment Sky+ , is this what they mean by "standard definition". I would have thought I'd get a good picture quality from Sky+, or won't i ?.

This is my concern too. I'm looking to get a 40" and like the look of the Sony Bravia, either the X or perhaps the W series. I'm not worried about sound quality as I have a seperate surround system. My main concern is picture quality, and at present non-HD picture quality. I will be viewing via NTL cable and watching a lot of DVDs. Any advice or recommendations??

I bought mine for £2799 great price here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LCD-TV-SONY-KD...QQcmdZViewItem

I am a bit more of an eBay person than most, so i should be considering im a powerseller of laptops. So you may feel wary from buying off eBay. If you check @ sony.co.uk ( as i did ) mka televisions do a search they are a reseller so i felt quite assured. I placed my order over the phone as i went to their website mkatelevisions ordered it on the monday and got it on the friday. But if you don't feel happy ordering from them then be prepared to pay at least another £400 more for another reputable store.
